The crazy thing is this is not even a EA FC only situation. I've been playing F1 games for a couple years now, the games used to be really good especially F1 19,20,21. but since EA sports bought the rights to the game and became pretty much the main developers of the F1 series, it's only been going downwards they've killed the career modes and the gameplay is horrific. Elite level attackers with high attacking positioning just run offside inexplicably rather than holding their run a bit. They run into defenders. They sometimes just don't make runs at all and just stand there. It's horrible to play

I'm 32 years old with a wife and 2 kids. I've played every fifia from FIFA 06 - 22. Back when I was younger and had a lot of time to game I played ALOT of it especially FUT from its early days when it was fucking awesome. Having a family I couldn't even play FUT if I wanted to as EA have made it impossible to have a good team unless you literally live to play the game or spend money. What I've been doing now is something I did back before FUT was a thing, and that's playing career mode and online seasons using real teams. I have to say it's probably the most fun I've had playing the series and the least stressful since those old times. I can only play some weekend nights if I have the time but to use my favorite teams and try and win division 1 is honestly really fun. Being a very casual gamer only playing once max twice a week if possible is honestly perfect for mental health and I'm always excited to log on. I only have eafc24 as it's free and I instantly find games on online seasons when I play meaning a lot of people still play it. Why? Because it's the same fucking game as 25, but I'll still download it once that's free too 😂

This is the first fifa where I genuinely couldn’t be asked to play both champs or rivals which is unfortunate because I’ve always enjoyed playing the game. Gameplay has become so unenjoyable and they constantly nerf the attack while buffing the defense. Let alone the gambling system they’ve added. Yes they compensated it with a sbc grind, but many of us simply don’t have the time to grind it anymore and even if we did, your team still wouldn’t compete with those who constantly open those crazy store packs. Also, before you could get a 40-0, 30-0, and even 20-0 in fifa 21 with a team that could consist of silvers and bronzes. Now, the team can genuinely save you from a lot of BS because EA knows pay to win is the way to save their revenue YoY. It’s unfortunate but it’s the reality. There is absolutely no need to play all the rival games and champs games unless you’re getting paid for it.

For me, the current state of the market and meta has killed the game. On release day, 95% of players are already unsuable. Back in Fifa 17, I was using different teams each week because 'lower tier' cards were still usable, even at the higher divisions. If I go into Division 1 with a 50k team now I will get absolutely destroyed. Everyone has Putellas, Bellingham, Van Dijk in the first week of the game, but taking that extra step and upgrading to the top 1% of players is practically impossible. On PC half of the top cards are essentially extinct. How do EA expect us to continue playing when Griezmann costs 17k but Mbappe is 4 million... Ultimate team has completely lost the meaning and foundation which made it popular in the first place.

Things wrong with FC 25: 1. Split access between premium v normal buyers, reduces hype. 2. FC 0 IQ 3. Everything feels untradeable and so most players feel stuck with the same team due to chem system 4. many bugs - often forcing a restart of the game. 5. 15 Wins?! Really? Wasn't this like 8 before? 6. The ability to spend $100s-1000s per week on promo packs, reducing the value of coins for packs - most people end up spending on specific players or fodder. 7. Solo Rush - we all know what this is feels like. Most companies that are starting to crumble are destroying themselves by prioritising profit and disrespecting players time investment. An online game like this thrives from a larger player base, but all of the above is squeezing the population out. I believe a lot of this can be tweaked and fixed but I honestly don't think they care anymore. Doubt there are any developers passionate about working on yet another fifa, its just a job and they don't get paid more as engineers for creating a better experience. Played fifa through 19,20,21,22,23, and 24. Stuck with it through all the bs, controversy, and everything even though I knew it’s been awful. Like you said, this year is the final straw for me. I’m a casual- I work, do school, and sweat my nuts off for 10 or so wins per weekend. I can’t do another weekend of sweat for an untradable rosicky, Sommer, and 83 IF, and I feel like each week I’ve gotten full rivals points I’ve had to sacrifice time that I’d usually spend allocated to school or my job- just feel like it’s not doable to even try. it’s the most pay to win and defensive year it’s ever been, and its simply just not feasible for casuals to really be rewarded for the time we can realistically put into the game each week. My problem with the finishing is the fact that corners / headers are insanely easy to score on, yet actual deserved goal chances will end up cucking you due to the RNG finishing system. That’s a major problem especially considering IRL corners don’t even generate that many goals. We have a major problem when it’s harder to score when you finally beat the defensive line and go 1v1 with the GK, than it is to score a corner with VVD. Can’t tell you how many games I play (literally 3 or 4 this past weekend league) where I score legit honorable goals, I go up 2-0 or 3-0, and then the opponent gets the EASIEST corner goals I’ve ever seen. It’s just demotivating to see your opponent come back and tie it on solely corners alone. It’s absolute BS and it should not be this way. But sadly the more Random moments / easy corners, the more EA is happy because it gives ways for lesser skilled people to score = less of a chance they will quit the game = more of a chance of a percentage of them getting addicted to buying packs. EA are scummy af dude.

FC24 had the same issue with god-corners BUT you could select your middle CB to read the pass and intercept it. This year most corners, the game locks you on your near post player AND DOESNT allow you to switch to your CB (some corners they get selected first and SURPRISE I CAN DEFEND CORNERS SUDDENLY, at least 70% chance alteast) Why have they changed that? Now its impossible

Been playing FIFA since I was 8. I'm now 31 and it's time to call it a day. I uninstalled the game last week 👎 I refuse to believe a company as big as EA can make a game this bad by accident, it's exploitation of a loyal fanbase at the highest level. This is one of the worst games ever made, simply because it destroys your mental health. There needs to be a mass boycott. The main reasons why eafc 25 is dying (with fewer and fewer players): Gameplay even more awful compared to the previous year and nothing is done to patch it up; Pack weight is incredibly bad, not even promo fodder cards are drawn, let alone meta cards; Mistake after mistake in sbcs, plus there aren't enough upgrades to get fodder; The matchmaking is terrible too, probably because there are no more casual players in the game... I'm genuinely awful at the game. So bad. I have attempted to qualify for WL 9 times and failed each time. I'm division 5. I only use my club's players in an Evo squad. My CB's are 74 rated and they do insane jockeying, blocks, tackles and I'm not even controlling them most the time. Not to mention I can just spam tackle into someones back and win the ball. The fact that someone as bad at the game as me can find success in defending using bad players, I can't even imagine what this is like in high divisions and WL

I’ve played FIFA’s since FIFA 98 (I’m old 😂) and I’m telling you the original FUT was the best one, it was an add on to the existing game that cost £8 & you had to use training cards to level your players up. It was unreal! The grind factor was there… No there is a new promo every week which means after 3 weeks the majority of gold cards are absolutely meaningless…. Don’t you think this is down to society as a whole just wanting new content & the best teams instantly? No one wants to work for or towards anything anymore. Gold cards would remain usable pretty much throughout, we could trade players etc and as the game evolved it remained addictive. Now its just releasing promo after promo making golds useless within a few months. Gameplay has been regressing for years to the point where nobody wants to play. Firstly I love the game of football. Before this year I had bought FIFA every single year since FIFA 09. FC24 was the last straw for me and I vowed to not buy FC25 if I did not see a change in gameplay. This video confirms that I made the right decision. When I am seeing FC25 was on sale within the first month of launch I knew others are also absolutely fed up with this company. For me games are all about enjoyment. I've been playing NBA 2K25 and Black Ops 6, I enjoy these games throughly and most importantly I leave those games happy. I can honestly say since FIFA 21 I have never left a game genuinely happy, it was a constant cycle of depression, frustration and scurrying around trying to find tactics to beat low-block formations. Ea Fc 24 was the final straw. I looked at 25 from the outside to see whether ea corrected their course, but seeing how they kept going the same wrong way, it was confirmation that I abandoned ship at the right time, and even then, confirmation that I made a mistake buying ea fc 24 from the first day, when I waited with fifa 22 and 23 to see how the gameplay was before buying the game at a discount. They don't deserve pre-orders. first played fifa 12/13 at the local pub as a 10 yr old kid, got into playing properly in fifa 14 and had 1500+ hours in every fifa, fifa 20/21 2000+ hours. going to ea fc i had no more than 200 hours last year, and this year i played for a week with a total of 20 hours before i just hung it up. getting older so yeah the drive to just sit there playing video games isnt there, but i can happily play bo6 or even a game like overwatch or red dead redemption 2 and enjoy my time for a couple hours each evening. ea fc very quickly felt like a chore to play instead of a video game to play and enjoy. hell, nba 2k this year to me isnt great (better than previous few years imo), but atleast on that game there is a way to at least make it fun

I hope some of you take the time to read this. A few days ago I checked my memories and saw screenshots of the teams I would use and I realized how less stressfull and competitve it was to play. The meta of certain players was not such as an importance in the game as it is now and we all had the freedom to use teams and or specific players that we had a close connection too. Fifa was all about the creativity and enjoyment. When now its a game of who can buy or pack the most meta players. I miss the days when I would go into division games not knowing what teams I was going to play against. Being able to see someones creativity with different players from different leagues without them having to worry about being at a disadvantage, this is what truly made the game feel special to us. Another thing I want to mention is that the reason MOST USERS stop playing the game is because the grind and the road to glory hold ZERO value anymore. Its so crazy to me that someone can buy fifa TODAY and load up 100$ worth of Fc points and already have a better team than an casual players RTG that was made day 1 and its been TWO MONTHS since the game released. There is no way that we already have a store pack that contains 15 84+ rated players and MORE. I am not surprised that my excitement and true joy has hit rock bottom. ngl, if it wasnt for nicks game content I dont think id be that interested in watching fc 25.

First and foremost - Why does one play a video game? To have FUN. Do we have fun playing this game? NO. Do we like how the gameplay feels? NO. Do we think the game is rewarding for the grind? NO. Do we feel like player input always dictates the outcome? NO. Do you feel angry playing this game? YES. Before you call this a skill issue, please note that the first FIFA title I played was FIFA 98, followed by 2002, 2003, 2007-2025. This game is the WORST football title by EA and sadly, this isn't even recency bias. You can jump into FIFA 23 and would instantly realize how much better that game is (which at it's time wasn't the best fifa title and had it's fair share of issues). What's sad is that we all know that they have the base code. They had some of the best titles in FIFA 12/13, 17, 18. At this point, their aim should be to move away from this engine altogether, go back to the old gen engine and see what worked for them.This game needs to be built from the last code that was appreciated well by the community. We don't care about endless animations being added, or the player's hair looking more realistic, or the stadium or pitch looking more vibrant. What we care about is GAMEPLAY and the servers. This is 2024, not 2000 where you can blame people for their internet and get away with it. Anyone who defends EA for this horrible gameplay is delusional. Coming to FC25, even if their menu/in game-content becomes stellar, at the end of the day, the game is not enjoyable. What's mind-boggling is that they continue to beat their low standards each year and keep making the worse than it is. What we need to do as a community is hit them where it hurts the most - not playing the game or buying a subsequent version until the issues are resolved. You don't have to be too smart to read between the lines. When Nick and other influencers complain, they have their limit on how much they can say (and in what manner). You and I are the end consumers. We should not be accepting SHIT - which this game and franchise has, sadly, become.

JUST DO SOMETHING ABOUT THE PRESSURE, it’s stupid that midfielder’s automatically track back quicker than attack AI makes run. That’s the whole issue Manually you should still be able to keep up with the fast players. But only when manually tracking back. So many times I see my opponent miss a tackle. Switch to a different player, at the same time the player that missed the tackle sprints like usain bolt back to a deeper defending position. That’s just crazy And just let’s not talk about the “treadmill” ea put’s your players on. They just make run on the same position until opponent catches up, ball goes out the side or keeper get’s to you.

When running with 93 pace player a 73 pace defender catches up with you after beating them and it's seriously annoying

I'm on PC, I have been since FIFA 21. This year is unreal.. the market is insane with players being almost double what consoles are. According to people who have played both platforms PC gameplay is much better than console but that makes me question how bad console is then since PC gameplay is the worst I have ever played in years, I gave up with FC25 when BO6 came out. Left my 6m coin team and my 2.1m coins and have no reason or enticement to even go back.

Nick another point that might have been forgotten was the pack weight. The pack grind is not even worth it anymore.

The devs are either incompetant, or dont play their frickin game. The defensive AI is absolutely insane. How can a balon d'or mbappe get outran by gold defenders???? Do they not see a problem with this? Even when i make the perfect play and im through with MBAPPE! A GOLD KONATE catches up to me instantly. Also the AI interceptions and the horrible passing in this game its unbelieveable how they havent bothered fixing it. Anyways back to cod

Yeah its not looking good this year. Every year the game gets worse. And now the content is also cooked. Rewards dont give you enough high rated fodder to do SBC’s. So thats the final straw really because of the gameplay being cooked and you cant even properly grind the menus this year too. The amount of views this game gets is very low. EA doesnt care anymore and put all their attention to maximize their profit per user instead of trying to make it good. Shame but this franchise is dead. Dont think it will be better in the upcoming years. That hope should be gone by now. Maybe we have to realize this franchise is destroyed by EA...

At this point people dont want a 'football' game they want arcade gameplay back. Outside of glitches this game mimics modern football, all controlled defensive gameplans

Pep Guardiola js undoubtable a genius who changed modern football but when you watch Man City and a lot of other teams who emulate their style they are boring to watch, its super precise almost robotic football and thats what FC is at a high level, boring robotic and try to keep mistakes down to a minimum.

This game is made only for pros. They’re sharp and can see two passes ahead for a casual Div 4 player like me this game is pure torture. I beat the midfield and defence and running towards goal and the defender who I smoked somehow catches up and pushes me off the ball every time. How is that even possible in real life as an average player how many chances can I make for AI to ruin it. Gameplay is heavy as shit he’s absolutely right even 95 mbappe felt shit

Every game is made for pros. They always have that edge. That's why the are pros. The word you're looking for is 'skill-gap'. It's a total shitshow where everyone's losing to everyone. Even pros are losing with RTG teams.

They are either clueless or have zero respect for any of the people who play their game. It sucks, I took a year completely off from FIFA/FUT and came back to FUT last year around christmas when I saw an offer for FUT24 for free, I am comfortable buying FP points every week when playing consistently, but EA are just too greedy, I noticed last year they release a promo every other week with new meta cards, TOTY cards aren't even endgame now, this year they are pushing people to the store so hard with the lack of any meaningful rewards from gameplay and even worse they are screwing people over in the store as well, out of the 20 or so packs available 2-3 of them are worth while opening to get you a nontradable card that could get in your team, the rest are garbage that people are throwing their money away opening.
