The Coleman Gladiator stove is a fantastic 2 burner camp stove and in this video I show you how to set it up and how to use it. This stove is sometimes referred to as the Coleman Gladiator fryeknight, or hyperflame stove.

Good Evening Robbie. I have the Coleman cooker and I love it! It’s good to put the little propane bottle and cooker on a bigger table so the bottle has some support, I think over time with the weight of the bottle hanging in the air, the fitting may eventually snap. I bought a brass adaptor off eBay which allows me to refill my little bottles from my 9kg bottle. It’s so much easier carrying the little bottles and they last a long time. Happy Days

Gas tanks have left hand thread of you can’t accidentally connect a gas bottle instead of an oxygen tank or something like that. So by having opposite thread you can only connect gas tanks to gas lines. Great video mate. Tight Lines

@pasquariello724 жыл бұрын
G’day Rob, my gas stove knob starts at full flame than keep turning the knob past high than you’ll get to the low flame and it’ll go to a real little flame for simmering. But the slightest breeze will put out flame than you’ll have gas pumping out un burnt.

Thanks Robbie. How long does the little green gas bottles last for?
@robbiefishing4 жыл бұрын
Hey Jaron to be honest im not exactly sure. I have 2 half full ones here. LOL Ive never let one full drain. From the 2 half canisters that I've used I've probably used them for 3 or 4 camling trips as well as a couple of day trips, so they last a while. It would be a good experiment to just light one and see how long it burns for. Haha

The green mini bottkes last aaaages, theyre all i run. I use it til it feel like its getting low, then buy another, run it til its dead empty, then you just swap them. Saves space and weight compared to a 4kg, even a 2kg.

Hi Robbie if you havent yet seen it there is an easy fix for the low setting on this stove, once you do it you will love it.
@einfelder82624 жыл бұрын
Just a tip when using the large bottle - ALWAYS use a spanner to tighten the left hand connection. If gas leaks there you will have a fire around the top of the bottle which will raise your panic level faster than you can say "Oh Shit". No need to ask me how I know.......
@iain19694 жыл бұрын
We have a Coleman one - very similar but not quite the same. It's a good stove but like yours it's hard to get a low flame.

G'day Robbie, Coleman products are awesome and we have many items from esky's to cutlery and tents to hat though we purchased a Triton 2 Series twin burner that is the model below yours and the same issue of flame control is there. No matter how you attempt to cool down the cooking the dial springs back. For a couple of hundred bucks is quite annoying mate. Also the canisters are a bad money rip. If you are using for Brekky and Dinner, even with a small number of people then one will only last for 2 or maybe 3 days tops. For $14-$18 this is not great.....
@robbiefishing4 жыл бұрын
Thanks heaps mate, yep I agree 100%. I think it is more about convenience. A bit like just ducking around to your nearest corner store and paying 300% more for something that you could get at the supermarket. You're paying for the convenience and I think these canisters are a bit the same mate.

There are a few videos online about how to fix the low flame issue by removing the valves and wiping clean of grease and using silicone lubricant instead. If you cannot find them, let me know.

@pipergilbert24952 жыл бұрын
@@robbiefishing I felt the same way at first! But now, apparently, with newer models, Coleman has included the silicone lube and directions in the manual!!! Seems like they would just do it right from the factory! Duh. Are you still using the Fyrefighter? Any problems not in the video?
@robbiefishing2 жыл бұрын
@@pipergilbert2495 haha Thays funny. If they know there's a problem why not just fix it? LOL Yes mate, still using it. Still the same. Apart from the awkward flame control it hasn't missed a beat. Sometimes it makes a really loud squeeling sound as it heats up with my frying pan on it. I'm not sure why tgis happens but it stops once everything is hot. Other than that, it's a ripper BBQ.
