Coleman RSV 200 Headlight Upgrade

Hey guys FatBuddyCat here! Today we are upgrading the stock headlight. I'm using an 18v Cordless drill battery and adding an off/on switch. This will provide a more consistent beam of light no matter how fast or slow I'm going.

Yo fbc!! I did the same thing with the 18-12 convertor and burnt out my makita battery!! So now I just run the batt straight to the light no problem

I tried straight 18v and it wasn't coming on, when I added the converter it worked. I'd rather run it straight.

😆 this would be the one to try and make street legal too. It's very comfortable and surprisingly quick with the modifications I added.

On my next oil change I can! It's pretty nice the way they designed the frame, it makes draining the oil super easy. A nice long or flexible funnel is best for filling.

Ya I have a nice USA made funnel I’m just confused on how to drain it out and also if there’s anything I need to do to clean it before putting new oil in it. Thanks 🙏🏻 I’m loving the content! 👍🏻

@@TheRegal8r there is a hole in the engine plate just below the drain. Toss a pan under it and drain on level ground. I always warm the engine up before I do it to ensure I get the most honey out of the pot.

I did a similar install on my bike recently with an amazon led headlamp and ryobi battery. I considered a 12 volt step down converter but offroad lights and usb phone chargers seem to work fine on the 16-18 volts which is all you really get from the big name drill batteries rated as 18 or 20 volt max amazon has kill switches with a second momentary switch for cheap. Thinking about a horn 😁

Some of the lights seem to work with whatever power you throw at them. I'll probably upgrade the light itself at some point.

@fatbuddycat @superpossum78 the light that comes stock is a decent light. The question that keeps being brought up to me is should you go for more of an amber light or stick with white light if you’re doing a lot of off-road night riding?

@@TheRegal8r there are warm whites and cool whites. I prefer warm whites probably because I was raised on halogen bulbs. Cool whites are whiter or almost blue tinted and seem fine for most uses considering how bright modern LEDs are. If we're discussing yellowish amber lights I don't care for them but they draw slightly less bugs in summer...

@TheRegal8r when I used to ride dirt bikes we had a more amber colored bulb, mostly due to a lack of more modern technology. I personally like having a set of yellow/amber lamps AND a white headlight, they probably have units nowadays that do both.
