even still in the video you are briefly losing traction when you go over the pebbles. If that happened when taking a corner at speed you could easily lose control. You have a lot of skill but what you are doing is risky no matter what. You should probably have your arms, legs and face fully covered unless you want to end up as a meat crayon.

I think the argument would be that it’s different knowing the rocks are there and planning to hit them vs hitting by surprise. Either way, I didn’t even know riding down hills on a skateboard with a car behind you was even a thing, but it’s awesome.

I think one pebble is worse then a lot of pebbles. Its like walking on a pebble road barefoot. It is not bad at all, but if you step on one pebble on asphalt, it hurts ;(. Also it looks like you missed the single pebble :P
@coletrotta5 ай бұрын
i can see that. and yea i did miss the one pebble :(
@milanvujcich5 ай бұрын
Yeah, if it hits one wheel, it’s not balanced and then one wheel can suddenly move slower than the other
@idmhead01602 ай бұрын
@@coletrotta I'm assuming you must have got pebble bite at some point when you were starting out? It can definitely happen at lower speeds on a skateboard. Maybe it's much less likely with longboard wheels and higher speeds. It depends on the rock's shape also. Round rocks are more likely to move. Try one of the limestone triangular ones that are specifically cut that way to that they lock together for things like the footing of a retaining wall. I hit one of those on a skateboard with 85A 60mm Rat Bones wheels and got thrown. When I checked the ground afterwards, the rock left a foot long mark on the ground. It was wedged in the front of the wheel and brought me to an almost immediate stop. My face hitting the pavement completed the stop. Sad thing is, I specifically bought those wheels because I thought they would be more impervious to pebble bite that smaller wheels.

Honey never spoils. Archaeologists have discovered pots of honey in ancient Egyptian tombs that are over 3,000 years old and still perfectly edible. Honey's high sugar content and acidic pH create an environment that prevents the growth of microorganisms, allowing it to remain preserved for an incredibly long time. Now you know.
