For the people bringing up the Broncos situation, they tried to do a trade with the 49ers, way before Kaepernick started kneeling and give him a pay cut from $14 mil a year to $7 mil. He declined that offer and stayed with the 49ers for $12 mil a year. Again, this was before him kneeling.

I've always said Colin wanted everything handed to him as far as being a starter. He knew he was about to get cut by the 49ers then all of a sudden he starts kneeling. Since then anytime he might get on a team but not as a starter he yells the NFL is afraid of him. I'm a black man and I've ALWAYS said said Colin is the ultimate opportunistic guy. That's why he doesn't do sit down interviews with people outside his circle because he doesn't want to get pinned down IMO

It’s not even a matter of humbling himself. He agreed to the unprecedented exclusive work out that the NFL organize for him months in advance and then, 45 minutes before it, he decided he wouldn’t show up and he wanted to do it somewhere else that was nowhere close to the original location. You cannot agree to show up at a job interview at a certain place & time, then change it at the last minute and then claim to be a victim.

@DeCurtaRican
@DeCurtaRican 2 жыл бұрын
You obviously missed some very important details concerning that entire fiasco. The NFL didn’t send any decision-makers to that workout. Secondly, the workout was just a ruse to coax Kaepernick into signing away his right to sue the NFL. The NFL’s lawyers realized that Kaepernick still had a valid claim for collusion under continuing violations doctrine. He still has claims against the NFL, and those claims will live on until he other plays or dies before filing a federal suit, or until the NFL stops hiring lesser QB’s who have never been to a Super Bowl. Kaepernick’s lawyers would have committed malpractice by allowing their client to sign a waiver obliterating his statutory rights. He still needed to present the impression that he was ready, willing and able to play, which is why HIS LAWYERS told him to present an opportunity for the NFL’s representatives to see him. Kaepernick won that chess game, and the NFL only got itself into deeper trouble.

@@JohnDoe-dj8kb Kaepernick is an inaccurate passer who has not played since 2016 and is going to turn 35 this year. He has lost significant athleticism, unless you believe that as one gets into their mid-30s, they gain speed, quickness, etc… So no, I don’t believe Kaepernick would be a better backup over Minshew, Brissett, Rush, Foles, White, or any backup. All of those guys have played far more recently than did Kaepernick, who again is a bad passer who hasn’t played in six years. Stop drinking the kool-aid.

Kap could play somewhere other than the NFL to show he is capable. Many other players did this. Warren Moon and Steve Young both had to prove themselves in the CFL before they became hall of famers in the NFL. If Kap wanted to play football he could and work his way back to the NFL... This is just an attention grab and nothing more. Kap hopes to turn this into more commercials and marketing money.

Eric Reid sounded infinitely more versed and knowledgable on the subject the times I heard him speak...contrary to Kap who I've never heard speak. I think bc of his missteps, the message has been lost on the people who need to hear it the most. And now, Kap has kinda come across as monetizing plight at this point and it kind of sucks

Not talking down. Talking at his level. There was nothing that Marcellus said that was untrue. If you really want something, and someone gives you an opportunity, you take it. Potential 16 mil? Naw, I don't want that. Well, there it is. Talking down implies a negative and maybe you did not mean it that way. But it sounds like it. Kap is the one who has talked himself down. He LOVES football but has he loves being a victim more. Until he settles that issue, he may never play again, because there are WAY too many people who WANT to play football and do not feel like a victim. There are way too many people who played football and don't feel like a victim: Jim Brown for example. And Jim Brown experienced way more racism than Kap ever will.

I disagree with the notion that Kaepernick 1. does not have what it takes to lead a team and win, and 2. That his tweet was " a bad chess more." Kaepernick has tasted greatness and wants more. Moreover, he and his agent know that the market for quarterbacks couldn't be hotter that it is right now. As many players as there are out there who would question his abilities there may be even more who are willing to give him a chance to prove himself. As a 49er fan, I feel that Kaep left some unfinished business on the table. He has stayed in shape and kept throwing the ball. I will concede that the hurdles he and any organizations who may sign him have a tall order to fill when it comes to a successful PR campaign, but I think his presence has the ability to reinvigorate what has become a lackluster American sport.
