So nice seeing someone actually playing the bass in a different way. I love chords and harmonics and getting esoteric on the bass.

So Colin I'll say this: I never heard of your band until someone pointed me to your play through videos, and I am not a huge fan of death metal stuff, having grown up with more traditional stuff like Yes, Rush, Led Zeppelin, and Black Sabbath, but your videos convinced me to buy the Pleiades Dust and Colored Sands albums on CD. Just wanted to let you know your efforts have not gone unnoticed, dude. Keep on doing what you're doing, man!

It's a shame, most people unless they're into death metal wouldnt take the time to hear how talented of a band gorguts is just bc of the name(which I love by the way) really not at all or too much about gore except for maybe considered. Great band great talent it will always be one of my favs. I'm not sure Colin if you've ever heard gorelust. Another canadian death metal outfit but I always said the were gorguts rip offs. They're still pretty good tho

I think you have to run 2 channels to different speakers where one is the clean tone so you keep the low end and they're just layered.

Hey Colin, this is awesome! I'm so glad Gorguts are finally getting the respect due to them. I was hoping you could answer a quick question for me. What guitar tuning do you use in Krallice? I'm trying to learn a few Krallice songs and I think it's Something like AEAGBE or AADGBE, but I'm not sure. Keep it brutal!
@viki21334 жыл бұрын
I managed to tab out almost the entire Dimensional Bleedthrough title track in E standard no problemo, but seeing their newer stuff and the fact they use the same guitars while playing songs live I'd say it's AADGBE, since thad mid D is used as a drone for a lot of their songs.

How do you get your Gorguts tone? I’ve seen in some past love videos it looks like maybe you’re blending an Ampeg head and a Roland JC-120. Very curious if you have time to respond as it’s kind of my favorite bass tones!
@jonathanmatthews6478 Жыл бұрын
Hey colin, curious as to what your setup for your btb is, specifically your preamp/pickups. Ended up picking up a fairly beaten up 406qm in the same colour recently and heard youd taken the preamp out of yours. Cheers!

Some of the bass work on recent Gorguts material(and on some music by Behold the Arctopus as well) reminds me of Extra Life’s first album, which you worked on, I’m aware. Were they an influence on recent music by Gorguts and/or Behold the Arctopus?
