umm @@AlJalandhari being a historian does't tend to work like that - you tend to have specialist areas or topics that you work in (not ideal - which is why I didn't pursue this as a career - I like to have a broader knowledge and understanding) and city state - exactly what do you mean by that (again, history is complex - and constantly being redefined and even subject matter experts in this area would probably disagree about dates/boundaries/definitions/meaning - quick search - broadly speaking - Rome was a republic for 450 years - became an empire in the wake of Julius Caesar's rise and fall in the first century B.C. The long and triumphant reign of its first emperor, Augustus, began a golden age of peace and prosperity; by contrast, the empire's decline and fall by the fifth century A.D. In historiography, ancient Rome is Roman civilization from the founding of the city of Rome in the 8th century BC to the collapse of the Western Roman Empire in the 5th century AD, encompassing the Roman Kingdom, Roman Republic and Roman Empire hope that helps

Do you really find Colbert is an "actor"? I find him a fantastic performer, but whenever he "acts," it isn't very good. Granted, he played the character of "Stephen Colbert" so very well that people thought it was his real persona, but isn't that a virtue of improv and sketch comedy? Is that "acting"? (Yes, in a sense, it is. Now I'm all confused. I _do_ call myself an actor. I suck at improv. I do Shakespeare and junk. I'm only fairly ok being myself in public settings. Though I also have a very dry sense of humor, and can play comedic parts, I'm by no means a "comedian." ... @19011801085 жыл бұрын
We revolted because England was imposing all kinds of taxes on the colonies and the colonists had no representation in the government. I mean, there were also other things, like the fact that colonists were required to let British soldiers stay in their homes and eat all their food for free. The point is, even if we had wanted to stay in those thirteen colonies, we would have had plenty of reasons to revolt.
