The NBA regular season is ending, which means award season is soon. One notable award to watch is the MVP race. Nikola Jokić and Luka Dončić currently lead MVP odds. Colin Cowherd dives into the state of today's NBA, then breaks down why Luka and the Joker's style of play is the trend moving forward, not the 'flashy style.' Meanwhile, Jared Goff has helped turn the Detroit Lions around and wants the local media to focus on it. While on the Wilbo Trading Cards podcast, Goff commented on how Detroit media 'relish in negativity at times.' Colin reacts to the QB's comments.

Couldn't agree more with Colin's take on the pg's. Most fans, or "fanboys" as Colin says, mostly only care about the "ooohs and aaahs", and high flyers, and don't really truly know the game of bball. Many only see how many points a guy averages as determining how good they are, when so much more to the game.

I disagree with Colin saying that the dunk contest was beneath LeCap. He ruined the contest by being the first big time dunker who is also a star player to not be in it. Others followed suit. But what it really boils down to is that LeCap doesn't have much of an arsenal of dunks, and he was scared to get shown up. Pure cowardice

Jokic and doncic game dominance are based on athleticism and skill, not just one or the other. Too bad today's badly informed Sport's media will never understand that. Saying that somehow these 2 will shape the NBA, say what. Each year brings new talent and new ways to shape things. Never any 1 or 2 people. That the most LIMITED thinking.

Luka conditioning is not where top tier pro sports athletes is to sustain a long career at this production. Luka still smokes cigarettes and plays himself into shape every season. Joker didn't get in "shape" until he stopped drinking 2 liter sodas one after another. They can have longish careers but not at even close to these peaks because one was a late bloomer on talent and diet, the other doesn't do all the things it takes to be consistently great. No one needed to tell Westbrook or Rose stop eating lard and salt cubes, work harder at your craft.....
