Idea for wall with the window. You could take photos of the wall of rock and dirt, then use the images to vinyl wrap that whole wall. That way, you can see the original rock wall and still concrete it up for maximum structural integrity.
@SeanBook001Ай бұрын
Depending on how large of a window. And if money is no object... Could do clear epoxy.
@markshakes3765Ай бұрын
Yes but then you have to think about lighting to see it, and if there are any gaps between the epoxy and the concrete, then moisture could get in. If you finish digging out for the final wall, then take perpendicular photos of the wall and print on vinyl. Then you have the wall steelled and concreted like the others, but vinyl wrapped with the images of the wall. Full structural integrity and easier to see the rocks and dirt behind the wall. Kind of like a wall papered feature wall in a house. And you can hang things off the wall if desired.
@TH3DUDE0075Ай бұрын
@@SeanBook001getting epoxy to dry without bubbles will be damn near impossible - it’s usually put into a vacuum chamber - I doubt you could pull a strong enough vacuum against a rock/clay wall, plus the clay will want to mix into the epoxy and it won’t be the crystal clear window effect he is looking for

imagination, daring to act on dreams, perseverance, all your digging series might seem like hyperbolic projects to some, to me especially as Ive gotten older, I really appreciate this, it ignites the childhood passions I once had, I look around in todays dreary mundane world where all the adults stick to the rules and cannot be bothered to allow for such creative projects of such scale, and it gets depressing you know, but seeing this, this is what life is about, I am sure you had to jump through alot of hoops that we will never know of to get this done, but this really reinvigorates me and gives me hope and excitement, that childhood idea of doing something crazy on a whim, I wish the rest of the world would allow for this type of stuff rather than seeming so hellbent on snuffing our capability to do things like this out

This video has a whole new vibe to it. Happy to see you met them head-on. The demon challenges I mean. That last little dance walk said it all. Your wife handling that RSJ is mighty impressive. And your boy's little dance at the beginning. Remember the very good thing you got going here. And to top it off, you are entertaining me. Dankie

That project is coming out nicely Colin you are a brave man to on such a big project like that 👏 👏👍 👍

This could be the norm on a new house build. A little bit of underground space for a guest room, games room etc. doesn’t affect the footprint of the house, doesn’t block anyone’s light etc. it’s a win-win.
@manta894Ай бұрын
Basemets are wax more expensive to build
@2SortsАй бұрын
@@jorgejiminez-rk1uu Well, kind of, but one that extends beyond the footprint of the house, like this one does.

@richardharrold9736 Really? Sounds like a badly built kind of a setup.
@minehacker733Ай бұрын
I think so too i think we need to build more in the ground not in the air
@MichaelT1820Ай бұрын
@richardharrold9736yes but these people are talking about a new house build with a part of the house being in a different part then the actual house let’s say the basement has a secret door connecting to this room outside of the original “house” but still on your property

You definitely now need either an elevator or a nice staircase up into the house. The ladder is fine for you , but Mrs Furze and Grandma Furze deserve something a bit more genteel... 😇

A nice paternoster maybe? Sounds right up Colin's alley
@chriswyatt9869Ай бұрын
Yeah I think a staircase of some sort is the best way and a way to really integrate it into the house. Like I feel like going up and down a ladder will be a bit of a chore and off putting to go down there, different to carry a cuppa or a tray etc. A staircase will bring it all together and make it feel like a 3 story house rather than feeling like a 2 story with a secret bunker
@jonathangolding6232Ай бұрын
Next project is to build a full basement under your house with wine cellar, snooker table and full staircase 👍 Then your neighbour will ask you to build him one too 😂
