Don’t be sad that someone cooked a wonderful meal just for themselves, some people find meaning in treating themselves nicely. I play guitar, and most of the time I only play for myself, no one will ever hear what I just played but I wouldn’t want them to, it was for me and it made myself happy.

Living in a third world country as an average income earner, you develop a scarcity mindset that constantly pressures you into focusing on the near future. The level of distress of not knowing if you'll have shelter or food next month, cripples your mind - and you can't even say you got bad RNG when you look around. Even if you end up ascending financially, it's hard to dissociate from that. There's never enough saved and everything non essential you buy comes with a lot of guilt.

Concerning the later points that Colin makes in the consumerism topic, I’ve actually heard the complete opposite about the economy. That their personal financial situation is fine whereas the national economic situation is completely terrible. And one of the things I’ve heard about the Biden administration is that, to balance the budget, they plan to raise taxes among the billionaire and mega millionaire class. Something I thought I’d mention.

Dagan it's much sadder to research how far you can walk without unpassable obstacle than it is to cook a nice meal for yourself I enjoy the process of the preparation Another benefit of cooking for yourself is you can season it to your taste without regard for someone else's taste Besides that do you feel that if you're eating alone you should have some frozen pre-made garbage because of ease of preparation?
@daganmoriarty19738 ай бұрын
Yeah this wasn't at all meant to be offensive, of course people need to eat alone sometimes, especially people that live alone. I lived alone for years myself. I just have a strange soft spot in my heart for people that go all out to cook a delicious, labor-intensive, picturesque meal without anybody else to appreciate it. It's a weird hang-up. As long as the preparer enjoys and appreciates it, well dammit, that's all that really matters. Sorry you got upset.

When you say “how little the people who don’t have money have…” I don’t think I can go along with that. The rich have a lot for sure. The have nots (domestically) all have cars, smartphones, internet, air conditioning, heat. Of course there can be improvement with some things like healthcare, but even that some people choose to invest in their health while others don’t. Have nots have more than ever, historically. But I think social media has us all comparing ourselves to one another, so we get tik toks of 24 year old girls in brand new cars or expensive leases complaining that they can’t afford to live, in 4k.

Identifying with the separate ego/mind fiction that you call you will shape and determine ones experiences/interpretations in a world with countless other egos that all see themselves also as 'causal' agents. It's not 'wrong', as a judgement,.... only limited. Or you can work from the center of the essence of All and find unity as the Oneness of all things. Religion not required... only Being.

Art isn't measured by skill, I think art should be appreciated for what it is, not held in a higher regard. If AI is ruining art, that's your problem, as a consumer. Cope. I make art, I don't use AI, but I'm not a better artist than someone who does use AI. Gotta accept that sooner than later because otherwise you're hitting your head against a brick wall for the rest of your life. You need to change how you yourself see art, not as a skill based thing, but instead just how it makes you feel, reflect and change. If AI art makes you angry, then that's some powerful fucking art. Keep in mind I'm not pro-AI in my own art, I personally prefer limitations. But it makes me sad to see people bash their heads against the walls over AI, instead, focus on your own conceptions.

Real talented musicians are regulated to yuoutube channels and goofy reality talent shows. Its wild, and AI is just getting bigger and bigger.
