[Collab] Aege vs Saito - FLA Share

Destructionseries here. This just happened just now. As soon as I watched 15 seconds of this, I called up LoneAlchemist on the phone and told him to COME AND WATCH THIS. He watched it on his big screen tv. We had a blast talking about it afterward and what we wanted to do. He's made a few attempts to come back and he certainly talked about it a lot over the phone for the past like two years. I have too, been making things in the background and trying to learn how to better sprite and write the stories I want to tell through silly Kirby Sprite Animations. The whole thing was moving, you know? Especially the last line, 'Just like old times'. I told Lonalk that tore me up. Tore him up too. I love you guys and all of the things you do. I keep up with a lot of things through SwordGrayFire and the times I check discord. I wanted to let you know that this was a magical experience to me and makes me really feel like I accomplished something way back then. God, I'd never be able to keep up with how well you guys animate nowadays and it makes me a bit self-conscious to upload any finished projects. Being one's own harshest critic really sucks and it is one of the things holding me back. But, I do want to get into uploading my animations again, so bad. This collab came out of nowhere and it really touched my heart. I really want to do something to show my appreciation. If that means getting back to the lab and doing some sprite animations, SO BE IT. I'll try getting some animations out for 2024! This is a happy new year.

I'll speak for myself here but I remember back in 2013 watching you guys' animations with my bro Florchy (the og kirb animators were peak), these were among the first sprite animations I've ever watched and motivated me to start doing this. Here we are 10 years later, with years of experience and now on my way to build a pro animator career, this might have not happened without you guys work. Very happy and proud to see that you liked it and to be one of those that carry this legacy! I may not be there for long, but there'll always be new skilled sprite animators to keep making Aege and Saito be Aege and Saito. Thanks again for inspiring Florchy and me, and have an happy new year king.

Another note, I'm actually pretty glad I developed the Aege sheet that was currently used in this collab. Seeing it used at its fullest is awesome! I'm sure the limitations would've been harder with the older Aege sheet haha. Other than my rambling, thank you for putting together this collab and thanks to all the other animators who worked on this and just had fun. We are the kirby sprite animators after all!

I recall my own times of being really young and watching the old Aege and Saito shenanigans. It was also nice to be able to get in touch with you two on a personal level on the times we could. Wow what an amazing Kirby sprite animation! This shows how far techniques have blossomed over the past 15 years. This in a true super high speed, smooth 3-D in 2-D experience. I like the details of the fight like Saito taking Aege to the sky thinking he was going to have an advantage only to have Aege surprisingly start dominating the fight at that point. Then to have the tables turn yet again because in lore Aege is not particularly in good shape for a Kirby character so he tires out and Saito takes control. Only to then have the cumulative battle damage they both took turn the battle to a back and forth attrition that ended in the only satisfying conclusion: both Saito and Aege taking a nice little nap. "Just like old times, huh?" That's right Kirby and we would not want it any other way. Excellent sprite animation collab!

This was out of this world on every single front!! Everyone who took part in this went absolutely INSANELY hard! It is straight up surreal seeing something I loved so long ago just still be here, and constantly growing. I'd hoped I'd never forget my love of sprite animations and I never have. This stuff always inspired me to create art and stuff when I was back in middle school and now I've graduated college and I can say that I've grown alot in that regard. I really do have a nostalgia for seeing these two (plus Kirby) doing some wacky adventure or just fighting each other.
