I remember that hotel being abandoned for many years and then rebuilt and reopened in the late1980's/early 90's. It's a pity that they could not keep it maintained and operating after all of the time and effort put into rebuilding it. One of the problems I see with hotels in P.R. is that compared to similar options in Mexico, the Dominican Republic and elsewhere, they are kind of expensive. You price a vacation online and you get one price and once you add the resort fees, it's no longer a good deal. These hotels go under because they do not rent enough rooms. They fail to realize that charging a higher rate doesn't get you more money if you rent less rooms.

In the quiet halls of the old Normandie Hotel, whispers of past love stories linger like ghosts. I wonder about the lovers who once met within its walls, their romances woven into the fabric of its forgotten history, leaving behind only echoes of passion and longing. Great video, Lau. Lau, thank you for the tour. Back in the late 60's I would stay at a nearby motel for the summer (I lived in NY). I would go swimming at the beach next door and then go to the Burger King in the Normandy. It was really cheap back then. I don't remember if I went into the hotel but your exploration filled in the gaps. What a video. Thanks

I have so much respect for you. I thank you for sharing your bravery!! We are just as crazy as you so I can relate to jump in through the window. I do skip the video part with Ghost talking, it's pure evil it's not a normal spirit. They do not play. We want nothing to harm you, you do well without Ghost talking. So back to your beautiful soul, we want to send you a Care Package, what is your sneaker size or slippers you are? You take care, we love you.

Shopping stores, bowling lanes( would have loved a bowling pin to keep),a theatre( I saw on another KZbin video),all those apartments!! The Freakin USA used, misused, and abused our island and our ppl. The least they could have done was to at least give those apartments to the PR ppl, but NO, they preferred to leave their trash instead 😡🤬so annoying, sad, n insulting!

I remember being at the Sixto Escobar in the early 90s for the Justas LAI and my university was assigned the bleachers closest to the hotel and I remember looking up at the Normandie and seeing the gringo tourists looking out the windows towards us students making a racket during the competitions. That was wild. I remember seeing the hotel abandoned when I was a kid, then it opened again in 90 and then it closed again. I think I may had been inside the lobby once. I think! 😁 ETA: You guys just made me feel old! I was active duty during 9/11. Yeah, I remember it very well. 😶
