I have watched a Marcelo Garcia's video teaching that elbow push guard recover a couple of years ago. Since then, I have been using it, but struggling against that collar grip. Sometimes I manage to brake the grip changing the angle of the push, but got my guard passed many times trying it. That leg stretching approach is very interesting, it will certainly make a huge difference. Thank you!

Collar sleeve triangle is probably my most successful submission. Great to have some options for bailing out when getting stacked! 😅

I had never heard of this technique. You are right, it's great to have an option in that scenario.

Just watching this, haven't tried it yet, but could you transition your bottom leg over for an armbar? You would probably have to switch out your posting arm from left to the right arm, and you grip. Love your videos! Your lasso guard is really apart of my game now!!😁

I’ve actually given up trying the Triangle (I’ve actually renamed it “the stack”) because I just get stacked every time I try it. I’ll have to try this technique. Thanks!

I'm the same, though I'm a tall guy and I end up stacked on my neck and have since developed a neck injury, I avoid the triangle even when it's there.

So I am thinking I can use my arm the way you did to prevent them from throwing my leg off their head as well? Sometimes when they are in my closed guard they will dig one hand under my knee to toss my leg over, and I can never hit the triangle from there, even though I know it's there. I wonder if I just shoot the triangle aggressively and back it up with the arm, maybe I can get it. Thank you! OSSSSss

Actually. Wondering if there is a way to avoid the stack when attacking triangle from collar sleeve with standing opponent? Or is this not recommended. I gave up on that as it was a guaranteed stack. But I’m interested to try switching to collar sleeve from closed guard with kneeling opponent. I’ll try!
