@@supercar.driver mix of all really, ran one wayy back on warranty, fortunately I only discovered the 'downsides' after as my mate kept my car and ran it has his track car, plus other gt3 mezgers at the track and forums (for the solutions). If you are tight with cash, just pin the coolant lines, take it to fearnsport, 9excellence i think it does the service too, tuthill might do it too, sharkwerks metal shoulders and don't worry about the engine anymore. Check another thing while you are at it, cam bolts, they sometimes come unbolted and it jyst goes to shit, mostly on vario cams (997.2 gt3) but .1 had it too. Just take the cam side cover check if the bolts are torqued on spec, if not, torque it a bit more than spec, rennlist has a good reliable value for this, but most important is to draw a line and check from time to time as it isn't an hard thing to do. If money is able, get an guards unit or a drexler and have it fit when they drop the engine, oem lsd are made of butter, 2 trashes and they are gone. That's about as much you will ever need on to do on that side. Couple of suspension mods won't kill (exe tc setup for 5k (+10k new) dolars being sold in US wink wink) but after pinning it will be pretty much bullet proof. Fearnsport again will help you more than i can, from chassis to engine to everything gt3. Excited to see this.

Let the big bills comence. Pinning coolant lines is lriority, you don't want to have them come off when you are leading and cause a sudden crash(es) to those behind you and even kill them, and believe that they will pop out and spill everything, it's a matter of when. Changing some of the rubber lines might be wise, lsd (it's knackered 100% sure if oem, if changed, lwfw and pulley from the 4.0 will be the right way and no extra labour), i will bet the brake pistons are all fckd and an abs ice mode is around, rebuild that, nice geo from gravity centre, see how shit the dampers are and fit something new or something proper. Rear main seal might be leaking too, as it was stopped for a while. That's it, maybe an adjustable toe as it goes out of geometry a lot. Full sfot bar at front, full stiff at rear will help understeer.

I consider it the car to buy, although price differences with a 997.2 gt3 are often small(ish) and that might be the most wanted 997 in the future. Only problem I have with it is that in my country, Belgium, You pay €2200 per year on taxes and a one off tax of 5000 euro to immatriculate a 997 gt3. The car is worth the purchase price and also worth the tire cost and everything, but our darn government is a greedy bi*ch.
