In the occupied West Bank, Israeli forces raided the northern city of Jenin early Tuesday morning, killing at least eight Palestinians, including a doctor shot dead on his way to work and a teenager riding his bicycle. About a dozen others were injured, including a journalist. Motasem Abu Hasan, an actor at The Freedom Theatre in the Jenin refugee camp who escaped the invasion, describes the ongoing attack on the camp. "They are shooting everything," says Abu Hasan. The Freedom Theatre was about to premiere their first play since October 7 as part of their wider effort to share the Palestinian narrative and "reveal the truth about the Israeli occupation." The raid began just as Spain, Ireland and Norway became the latest European states to recognize the Palestinian state. "It's a result of the cultural intifada," says Abu Hasan. "That's why we really believe in the power of narrative, especially in The Freedom Theatre, in Palestine, in Jenin camp."

It certainly isn't for any purely military 'war strategy' .... Hamas has neither tanks or other heavy vehicles needing roads to move troops or military equipment along. What it does do, is make it more difficult for the humanitarian aid trucks, & ambulances to reach & help the civilians. Or civilians to easily flee along, slows them down to struggle over craters, rocks, shifting sand. Carrying their children & what meagre possessions they can in their arms - even for a donkey cart to traverse! Makes it more difficult for injured people, disabled in wheelchairs, the weak, elderly, pregnant women, those with newborns & toddlers. The deliberate, intentional nature of such wanton destruction is unbelievable & heartbreaking.

It's so painful to even just see the abuses, violence and humiliations that the IDF imposes on innocent, unarmed civilians in these clips. These things and this behavior by them with complete impunity can and will grow within themselves a wickedness that will consume them. You can see it. I feel so sorry for this narrator - the pain in his voice. "They are, you know, really monster, really shooting everything.
