Praying you are all better. I had my stomach removed 8 weeks ago and it’s so very important when you are sick to take care of your family and yourself. I’ve had to seclude myself in order to heal and while I’ve enjoyed my seclusion I do miss my people. Right now it’s all about healing and getting stronger. I shouldn’t be here because my stomach actually died and it took 10 hours of surgery to save my life. So I’m grateful to God for allowing me to be here. I love both baskets!! Maybe you could sew a liner for the basket that hangs over the edge and it would cover some of the orangey color and you could use it for laundry & then you won’t have to worry about it snagging your laundry either! Happy weekend! 🌟💕🤩

That spot on the handle of the basket, just wrap it with twine/decorative ribbon or string and it makes it even prettier and takes care of the problem. That's what I always do with my thrifted baskets that have issues on the handle. Love those little Irish creamer pots!

Hope everyone is well at your home now. I love the buttons that your daughter picked out. Like Hilary said in the comments below, I've also become a lot more particular in what I purchase. If it's not really close to exactly what I'm looking for, I pass. If it costs too much and I'm pretty sure I can do better at a later date/another sale, I'll pass. I never used to shop this way, but I think it's one of the things the pandemic has taught me. I've been decluttering so much for the past year and a half that I'm really intentional in what I bring in now. I really enjoy your videos; thank your for brightening my day.

I'm in an area now where prices are really changing everywhere. I can pay one price for something one day, and the very next day, the same item is $1-3 more. 😅 I suppose this change is definitely affecting my confidence in gauging prices.

I “sometimes” find thrift store things over priced, in my opinion. And, inflation has definitely affected even thrift stores which opened my heart to realize that thrift stores are also businesses and a way for them to make a living. Their expenses have gone up as well. It has just made me more mindful. I am striving to live within our budget (which God provides) while also recognizing small thrift stores are people’s livelihoods.

I absolutely think that basket is worth 12 dollars and it's in good condition and clean. At a retail store even at 1/2 price they would probably want 30 dollars or more. You did good with that purchase love your videos they are very calming.😊👍💝

Oh gosh Rachel what is going on is just horrific. I love allllllllll your finds yes that pitcher is stunning. We have an as is store brand new bins and I went and purchased beautiful pieces 21 different items total for all over the house. Items new in packages and brass and blue and white, I found brand new dirty/clean magnetic slide sign for the dish washer. (Then saw them on Amazon for 10.00 ) oh one of those giant glass jugs with a lid by anchor hocking sold at Walmart ( filled it with my laundry pods )made the laundry area look so clean and tidy. Okay drum roll 16.89 for all. So cool! I think that basket is worth 12.00 it’s a perfect basket for laundry. That basket would easily cost over 39.00 at target. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 if you have a bins store by you try it you just never know. It was my first time. Estate sales are so fun loved all the ribbon 🎀

I’ve become hyper selective at the thrift stores lately, and if an item needs altering in some way I’m so much less likely to buy it unless I plan to fix it that day/that weekend. Just a couple weeks ago I bought new dining chairs off Marketplace, got them home and realized they were too orange against our table. I debated trying to strip them or lighten them, trying the oven cleaner hack possibly, but ultimately decided I didn’t have the time or desire to take on such a big project so I re-listed them and they sold the next day. As far as the basket, it is pretty orange and paint may not hold up if you’re going to be using it in a practical way every day. Might have been a live and learn moment, the size is awesome but the color and price could be better, in my humble opinion and only because you asked ☺️ I think your gut is a good thing to trust and asking yourself if you really love all aspects vs just one thing and holding out for what you really want and will make you smile every time you see it vs make you feel like you have a project. I used to have knobs like that and the same thing happened with me. You can take that part off, it just slides off and still use the knobs.

I always smile big and say to myself, Yes she's back :) Taking time for self and family is important so glad you did. Yes too much going on in the world and so much seen now that we have the internet. It feels like we are maybe at the tail end of the pandemic, and now worry for another country. Of course there was a lot happened during the pandemic also. Sometimes I choose to put my head in the sand for a couple days, no watching sadness, and allow a break for mental health. I love the little creamers and those door knobs are so pretty, too bad they didn't work for what you needed. They would look great even in one of your white milk glass bowls for decor :) The basket is beautiful. I'm not sure I would have paid $12. unless I had a specific need like a blanket/decor reason but I too don't think we should pay what we might new, since thrift stores obtain everything free. The prices have certainly gone up but still a fun pass time and I still get some good deals. Thanks for the video.

I’ve had issues with kitchen knobs catching on clothing too, especially pants/shorts pockets caught by knobs that are at the top of full height base cabinet doors or the top drawers. If you like the looks of them consider keeping them and using them just on upper cabinets and find coordinating but plainer metal pulls for the base units. I switched to 3” pulls instead of knobs for my drawers because they can’t catch on anything. I was lucky because the knobs installed previously were screwed into a decorative backplate which itself screwed into 3” spaced holes so I just removed the backplates/knob combo and replaced them with a 3” pull. Making a switch like that may not be possible in your case if the drawers all have center drilled holes for a knob and you plan to keep them oak. I plan to fill the extra hole on the doors where I wanted a knob and then paint the cabinets. You don’t necessarily have to get rid of them, just figure out WHICH cabinets are causing the problem and use them somewhere higher or lower than that.

I have a basket almost identical to that for laundry that I bought years ago at World Market. It is super helpful for me to carry laundry from the second floor where the only bathroom and all the bedrooms are to the basement where the laundry is. Mine might be a bit darker than yours but very close!

Hi Rachel! I think when you go back and forth with a purchase it means you really should buy it. If it stops you then you know you will be able to use it somewhere. That basket was a deal! You could bleach the basket as you would bleach wood to lighten it. And don't unravel the handle, how about wrapping it with twine, you could make a "hand hold" to grab onto.

I love all your finds! I love the big basket and I think $12 is a great price. I wonder if a little e 6000 glue would glue down that loose spot on the handle? ....or maybe another strong adhesive? I love the blue and white pitcher. It is so beautiful.

Baskets have gotten more expensive at the thrift store, so i think for the size you did well. gray would be a good color choice as well.

Love your finds....that basket is perfect. No it is not Longaberger but it looks very well made. I collect Longaberger and I love it when I find them for a great price at thrift stores etc. I love your idea of hanging aprons on them. My husband had flu A last week. So glad yall are starting to recover. I might take some pretty fabric or ribbon and wrap around that handle. I think trying to take it out might ruin the basket. I think painting it or staining it a different color is a great idea. You are so creative, I look forward to seeing what you decide for the basket.

I think the value of an item Depends on what you are using it for. For example if you decide to use the basket as a laundry basket could you have bought a laundry basket that you like just as much for $12. If the answer is yes then that means you pay too much… if the answer is no that means you paid the perfect amount.
