Great interview GBB and Kevin. An impressive collection for sure. Would love to see you rock the G Shock in a Tux. Own it my friend. Own it! The most valuable advice throughout the entire interview is to "collect what you love". I have subscribed to that mantra for many many years and would also offer an additional nugget which is to collect what you can wear regularly. It's not quantity it's QUALITY. And you my friend have accomplished both. Well done.

Very interesting interview I have been collecting for around 10 years and have been lucky enough to have some very nice watches, it is interesting how your thought process can change in regard to what you think about before buying or trading for your next watch. My primary criteria has always been I have to really like/love a watch before buying it but in the first few years of collecting I never considered how easy or hard it might be to sell a watch when I didn't want it anymore. After having trouble selling some pretty expensive pieces I started considering value retention and desirability of the watch at least in some part of making a buying decision. As this guy states Rolex and Patek are the safest bets for value retention an ease of resale. I will never considered a watch as an investment but it is nice when you want to trade or sell one that you get a large amount of your input back out of it. That is why I have chosen to stay away from some crazy mechanical wonders that fascinate me but also concern me that I will never get rid of them if I tire of the novelty of a funky piece. Classic designs are called that for a reason, they never go out of style. Also amazing to me how steel sports watches have become so popular and watch diameters are returning to more reasonable sizes. It will be interesting to see what the trends are 10 years from now.

Cool interview. He knows what he likes and understands that most of the time watches aren't really investments but more a way to park some wealth in something enjoyable that you can potentially get most of the cost back out of. I don't get owning that many of the same watch, but if that's what makes him happy then why not?

The interview was pretty interesting, but the camera direction wasn't, IMHO. For example, when they talk about and look at an amazing movement, and George even holds it for the camera to see, why on earth would you not zoom in on it? And if it isn't possible in the moment, film a closeup shot afterwards that you can later cut in.

Why choose something only I may like when I can have something that everyone likes and hypes up? I need gratification from recognition. Oh, and the resale is very good. Did I mention I also drive a 911?” “Kevin, stick to the motherfucking narrative or your days of receiving a new stainless Patek or Rolex in under 16 months are over!
