Don’t even talk about freezer burn or when some of the plastic(?) shelves start to crack. Then, you guys could debate about fridges/freezers/food in general or Erik can look up the history of fridges like he always does.

I totally relate to how your hearts break when Flynn displays being insecure. I have a 2.5 year old daughter (who by the way has grown up watching Flynn and your family and it is the only thing that isn’t a cartoon she will watch, Miranda included, and she asks for Flynn and Flynn mommy often 🥹 I have videos of her at 7 months watching Miranda and laughing, videos of her waving hi to Flynn.. it’s incredibly sweet). But she will get insecure too! The same thing, if we laugh when she’s being cute and she’s not “in on it” she thinks we are laughing at her. Or if we ever talk about her in a room where we are telling a story about her she will end up in tears for “talking about her”. It absolutely breaks my heart and I internalize it the same way Colleen! I’ve learned that these phrases help “I so enjoy watching you play, it makes me smile and giggle with happiness!” And then when in a room telling a story about her I ask her permission first now and explain why I want to tell the story of her being cute. Gentle parenting is so hard when you weren’t raised that way, I totally relate to that as well! You guys are doing amazing with your kiddos. 🫶🏻

Have you ever thought about getting a bio-active terrarium and getting some “roly-polys” and other bugs that can coexist with them? The roly-poly bugs come in many different colors and if done correctly they can thrive pretty good. Put some live plants and moss in it and it will look like a mini little forest he can enjoy.

I hope you two read this - get Flynn a Tarantula! They're the most FASCINATING creatures and live their best lives in a small area, thus keeping them as 'pets' is a great choice/option!! I used to be deathly afraid of spiders so I got a Tarantula to help cure my fear and ended up with over 30+ species and a breeding program 🤣 - and this 40 year old lady (and mom) absolutely loves them, now. So does my kidlet. 🥰 Flynn would freak out in the best way!!

Mosquitoes used to eat me alive, for years. I changed my diet in the last three years to low carb. No more bites ! Even in humid weather when everyone else is getting bit, using insect repellent, they don’t touch me now. Not even one bite 🤷🏻‍♀️

Colleen!? Do you listen to the “Good Inside” podcast by Dr. Becky? Because the gentle parenting you’re explaining sounds EXACTLY like the way she navigates her listeners through the challenges of parenting. If you DON’T listen to her, you should. Her examples and tools for ways to speak with children are life changing. If you DO listen to her, that’s awesome! My husband and I have learned a lot from her. Most importantly, we’ve noticed our little ones (and older ones) responding very well to this new style of parenting from us! Either way, you’re fantastic. I love that you love your kids so much that you’re always willing to learn and better yourself as their parent!

Little Shop (well and Seussical) is absolute favorite! I was stage hand manger in 2012, I remember so many things going wrong in one of the three shows, that my Stage manger was yelling at most of my hands while I was trying to figure out how to fix them. I have a bit to say on the long same situation. First, my full name is Gabrielle (not to be confused with Gabriel). I prefer to go by Gabby though and people have always called me such. Usually when someone calls me my full name it’s a new teacher or substitute or my mom when i’m in trouble. For the last situation, I prefer the shorter name and I feel like this is a relatable experience for my long named folk out there. Second, as a writer and someone comfortable with the publishing world, when people shorten there name to only letters like “T.S. Lewis” as Erik was saying, it’s usually for privacy reasons. A lot of the time when it’s abbreviated like that it means that someone doesn’t want you to know their full name, their gender identity, or something about their personal life before reading their stories. It’s especially popular for women in men dominated genres like fantasy who don’t want their readers to put down their book because it was written by a woman and not a man as most readers have this engrained belief that women can’t write. Hope that gives you some interesting insight! The more you know.

Flies actually do have a purpose. They as well as their larva aka maggots, help break down dead things, such as road kill. They are the reason it breaks down so quickly. Along with buzzards also. It is gross and morbid but very needed.

I worked at a petstore for almost 5 years and have a hamster myself. If you get a small cage with a tubes, please only put a dwarf hammy in it! (I recommend a Chinese dwarf or winter white). Honestly those cages are not ideal, but will be ok for one of the little guys! Just do not get the giant dinosaur cage from Petsmart. It's a death trap for hammies. If you go for a syrian ham (the larger ones) they do best in a (minimum) 40 gallon tank with LOTS of bedding for burrowing. That's the set up I have for my sweet girl. 😊

Whenever you have a itching mosquito bite, scratch next to the bite. That way the venom doesn’t spread, and the misquito bite will stop itching straight away. This actually works!!

The bug bite thing is my LIFESAVER!!! I get bit by mosquitos BAD. I can go outside for 30 minutes and get 50-100 mosquito bites. It was nearly unbearable!! Now I am able to get that venom sucked out and the bite goes away. I have been using it for 3 years and I’m OBSESSED! I loved the passion in this topic. 😂❤️

Colleen- my daughter has sensitive skin and she is the same !! She has always been so sensitive to mosquitoes and she would get super big welts too ! I was so freaked out when she was a baby, I had them test the “venom” that would ooze out of the bite and they couldn’t find anything ! They said it was her reaction to the mosquito bite ! To this day , in order for them to heal and prevent really bad itching- I have to clean the bites very well, add antibiotic ointments to the bites and cover them with a band aid for about 1 week before they heal. If I don’t do this- she will itch them and they get so much worse 😭

I’m with you Colleen, mosquito bites are the worst! I had over 200 bites on my body while on holiday in Greece. I had to see a local doctor because I had cellulitis and an infection, apparently I am also allergic to the venom which is why I had the reaction I did. It was horrendous and makes me very nervous whenever I go abroad on holidays. We have mosquitoes here in the UK but I only seem to get bitten badly when I go out of the uk xx
