OMG TSUBASA CHRONICLES!! I just finished the book a few days and it truly is one of the greatest mangas of all time… I remember a few days ago being so angry because of how confused I was with the story near the end, but when everything came together and I was able to see the picture… I was shocked at how beautifully CLAMP put together the story… This and Rayearth are CLAMPs best >>> EDIT: Also there does end up being a ton of emotional damaging parts near the end it’s a lot 😭 but it’s done so beautifully

I really need to read the Rayearth manga. I only own the anime as of right now. My favorite CLAMP works are Cardcaptor sakura and chobits. (At least out of what I've completed). I rember reading all of tsubasa years ago but I've forgotten quite a bit and haven't read the sequel. I've read Wish,Clover,12 volumes of xxxholic,Clamp school detectives, one volume of Blood C,and two volumes of Angelic layer as well. Luckily Kodansha seems to be licensing a lot of them so I'll be able to continue.(and reread tsubasa before the sequel)

You probably don't read comments this late, but just wanted to say I love seeing someone else get teary-eyed over Yumi Tamura's writing. I read Basara back in high school and slowly collected the volumes. I lived in Japan after that and immediately bought the whole series in Japanese because it was on sale at a Book Off. I then got into 7 Seeds and spent too much time trying to convince others to reads any of her stories. I love seeing other fans!! I learned Japanese to be able to read amazing stories that weren't available in English, and the translator of Basara really influenced me too. I've had some opportunities to translate/QA for various companies... but I'm hoping someday I can help be someone who brings these fringe series to English audiences. :)

kimi ni todoke hit me really hard. when i graduated high school i was pretty much the sawako of my school at a lot of points in my life (literal kids running from me in grade school kinda bullied), so i identified with her almost immediately. i literally joined a scanlation group back in the day (mango scans iirc) as an editor to yes, help with the group since they were hiring, but also get chapters early. back then, the localization wasn't even out yet and volume 5 or 6 was the current one (*note i own all the manga now, please support your manga creators*). i just absolutely fell in love with the story and wanted to see the two progress. i was going through a lot at the time and generally felt lost. after some time, i finally went to college, and the messages of the story stuck with me. i pushed myself and made a lot of great friends. graduated college and the final volume came out. i... sobbed like a baby reading it. the series means a lot to me and i'm glad i read it all.

OMG if I was reading the scans from your group back when it was releasing monthly that would be crazy..... I started the series I think when it only had a few volumes out as well and followed it until I also went to college. Didn't finish it entirely until I realized I never read the last 3-4 volumes or so back in 2018.

I'm genuinely amazed how chihayafuru managed to keep its quality and pacing from start to finish. There was not a single scene in the manga I thought it was either dragged out or rushed. I think this is the most consistent manga I ever read in terms of quality. Really sad the manga will end shortly. It was truly a bless to have followed the journey of such an amazing cast of characters till the end.

I'm still not sure about I Want to Hold Aono-kun So Badly I Could Die, I'm worried about potential triggers. I'm glad I wasn't the only weirdo that acted like I was watching a volleyball game when I was reading Haikyuu. I may or may not have woken up a neighbor or two, especially while reading the last volumes (that ending though *chef's kiss*). I've never heard anyone talk about Machida-kun no sekai. In my household I can barely choke a tear back without being called extremely dramatic and to stop it so I bottle a LOT of my emotions in until it's unhealthy . The thing that I love the most about Hinata Shoyo is that despite how much he was ridiculed and disrespected, he never once looked down or think so poorly of any of the people he meets. Sure he loves to joke around, but he did not express the disrespect that was given to him. Remember in season 4, when he sneaked into the first-year training camp, and nearly everyone just hated him being there. Now, I don't remember which episode was this, but remember the 2 meter tall guy, Yūdai Hyakuzawa? He was invited as well, but he was struggling, and of course hinata noticed this, and along hinata's stay there in the camp, he learned something new, and you know what? with the new thing that he learned, HE HELPED HYAKUZAWA AND HE WAS SO HAPPY AND WILLING TO DO SO AND EVEN CHEERS HIM UP! While nobody else seemed to want to help him. I know, I know, "that's the bare minimum", but it's Hinata Shoyo we're talking about, he's a rarity.

Colleen, i just want to take this moment to thank you for getting me back to shoujo and presenting me more josei mangas. I got back to anime in December 2020 and manga in January 2021 but all i was reading and watching was shonen but discovering your tiktok account revived my love for shoujo that i had in high school and middle school. Thank you! I hope u keep growing and so the shoujosei community ❤️

Haikyuu always holds a special place in my heart because of how close it mirrored my experience as a high school athlete. Being accepted into a team of seniors, fighting for a starting spot, honing your talents while improving upon your weaknesses, building a bond with your whole team, experiencing the highs of victory and the lows of defeat...it reflected everything that made high school sports so important to me. Karasuno vs Inarizaki in particular was so profoundly impactful to me--watching Hinata overcome his greatest weakness, having watched all of the trials he overcame to get to that point...it just moves me in a way no other shonen has. I understand why Blue Lock and Kuroko are as popular as they are, but I don't think they are sports manga that truly "get it" like Haikyuu and Slam Dunk do.

Congrats on the 15K!!! :D Just recently found your channel and Im watching through all your videos atm, they are SO well made! You explain everything really detailed and you talk so fluently about all kinds of topics, almost as you did nothing else for the past few years ^^ I especially like this top 15 manga video of yours, as you explain every title in detail and I can really feel your love for every series. I almost started crying too at the end with Chihayafuru, you got me just so emotional when I saw how it impacted you. Never read or saw the series tbh, but I really wanna change that now ^o^ Aaaaand I cant stop thinking about "a condition called love" .... I really wanna read that one, your video was just lovely, it made me wanna read it too and follow their journey ^^ Loved your thoughts about Natsume too, fell in love with the anime and watched all 6 seasons in a month ^^° Really wanna buy the manga too and experience the magic in manga form, but it is so out of print and hard to get, its just sad :( So, congrats again and Im looking forward to many more videos to brighten up my day :3

Not gonna lie, it amazes a lot that aside from Haikyuu, I’ve never heard of any of these series. It goes to show that in the anime world, many praise Shonen and seinen manga series as the top of the medium. While yes, I agree many of them are masterpieces, rarely I see shojou and josei brought up. I can write down the big ones of anime and all of them are Shonen and seinen, while I almost know anything of the female targeted demographic. It’s pretty interesting considering that Berserk (Often considered the best mange ever made) uses plenty of shojou tropes.

Just read the ending of Chihaya, after catching up with the manga after years. The ending made me cry like a child!! It's crazy how the author made me unsure of how she would end the story, end I was at the edge of my figurative seat till the very last pages! Even though after reading it, it's clear that this is how things always where meant to end. And the extra chapter is amazing! Gave me back the felling of the early light hearted parts of the story, plus a really welcome close up and development to Hanano. This is definatly one of my favorite storie ever, beyond manga or anime. I love these characters so damn much!!

Except for Natsume, Shirayuuki, Haikyuu and Chihayafuru, I have never read the other titles. Thanks for the suggestions! Basara looks like the most promising to me right now, but I'll give a try to the others too. I am wondering whether you have read Tramps Like Us, Red River, Skip Beat and Love Com, or some old classics like Glass Mask, The Rose of Versailles and Itazura na kiss.

Hi Colleen! Congrats on 15k and banger ranking! I really need to read 7Seeds and Aono-kun ;_; I've already heard a bit of Machida-kun no Sekai but barely so having a clearer image of the manga makes it very interesting too. AND. RECOMMENDATION TIME : I think you could really like Bokura no Kiseki, especially since you advocate so hard for adventure/action/fantasy/mystery shoujosei. It's an ongoing mystery/drama/fantasy josei which follows ordinary student Harusumi Minami who remembers his past life as a princess in some medieval fantasy country. Once magic starts to make an apparition in our current Japan and his classmates start remembering their past lives too, he realizes that this truly wasn't any delusion of his. Together they try to make sense of these new memories and piece out the mystery behind their death in sudden war. The cast is fantastic and they all get to shine (and that says a lot knowing that we're talking about most of an entire classroom of kids as well as their past life counterparts), it's so thrilling and tightly plotted, the worldbuilding slowly unravels and is excellent AND the interpersonal relationships are so interesting. Reincarnation and reverse isekais are pretty popular lately but I would say this is the best take on the genre. All the characters have their lifestyles suddenly upended because of their new memories. Everyone turns confused once it hits them, and some try to fight the change but later they only realize that it's too late and that their past caught up to them. Other try their best to never remember because they're scared of experiencing such a thing! Anyways I could wax poetics for days about it. It's a very good manga haha :DDD

You are the cutest bean ever so don't feel stupid for crying and being passionate about something - it's absolutely endearing. ♥ I really enjoyed this looong video and can proudly say: you made me look into several manga already and made me buy QQ Sweeper. (Unfortunately Germany never got a Queen's Quality release, I'll have to try and get the English version.) Your personality, dedication and the way you present manga and their storylines is what made me subscribe in the first place - 15k subscribers and you deserve every one of them! Lots of love from me to you. ♥
