Had a guy in our classic a few years back find a dead body under a bridge, didn't know if he was dead or just unconscious but tried to help him to no avail. Had to spend half the day off the water dealing with police getting fingerprinted & answering questions to make sure he wasn't involved somehow. Probably didn't cost him the classic, but who knows. Bottom line is he did the right thing and it may have cost him, but he doesn't regret it. He and his son now both fish our circuit and are doing well, best of luck to the both of them, James & Andrew you know who you are.

I had a situation like this where a suspect jumped into a lake in central Florida at night who had felony warrants as well. A good Samaritan allowed myself my Sgt and another officer ride to the middle of the lake. The suspect refused to get in threatening to drown himself. He had taken all his clothes off! It was apparent he was exhausted and on the verge of drowning. I removed my gest and jumped in after him disorienting him and pushed him into the boat. Not the smartest thing I have ever done but I wasn't going to watch a person drown all to keep from going to jail. If it wasn't for good people like these College fisherman a mam would have drowned for felony warrants. Thank you gentleman for helping to save this man's life!

I agree with PaulAnderson (top posting)-the cops should have ALL been way may more Thankful to the fishermen. They barely said Thanks. The fishers should have each gotten a Complimentary Card for future use. Those two young guys in a big expensive boat with a lot of gear and equipment did an absolutely text book perfect job of boat handling, navigation, and doing everything they were asked to do. Putting at risk their boat, gear, and themselves. Cops should have bought them dinner later. You can clearly see that the fishermen are men of good character, and they are going to lead good clean productive and successful lives. If I were in their place at that age I would have been coming apart from stress. They remained totally cool. THANK YOU to those boys. -from a bass fisherman in Minnesota.😮

Is it me or are the fishermen wearing floatation devices and that cop is loaded with all kinds of things that will positively take him straight to the bottom like an anchor?

I don't think he did on purpose. The GoPro was mounted on the top of the windshield frame. It's a common spot to hold onto on boats, especially as you pass through the windshield split. You can see it at 10:15
