Cops don’t have jurisdiction over fish and game. Cops can’t even check your fishing license, that’s a game wardens job. So unless they paid for 5 years of a fishing license they couldn’t just hand it out

Had a guy in our classic a few years back find a dead body under a bridge, didn't know if he was dead or just unconscious but tried to help him to no avail. Had to spend half the day off the water dealing with police getting fingerprinted & answering questions to make sure he wasn't involved somehow. Probably didn't cost him the classic, but who knows. Bottom line is he did the right thing and it may have cost him, but he doesn't regret it. He and his son now both fish our circuit and are doing well, best of luck to the both of them, James & Andrew you know who you are.
