The policeman was right, the college dean is pathetic, and he deserves his punishment. This reminded me of a time I had a middle/junior high math teacher tell me that the way I did math problems was impossible, yet all my answers were correct. I spent three weeks doing after school detention to "LEARN" to do the math correctly (I learned to hate math). When my dad found out what happened, he came to the school for a meeting with my counselor, the math teacher, the principal, and myself. My dad, who taught logistics and probabilities to Navy personnel handed the math teacher a math problem and she told people that she had no way of even knowing how to begin the problem. This was handed to the principal and my counselor, then to me where my dad told me to solve it. After I completed the problem the principal took the problem and graded it with the answer sheet (book) my dad handed him. My principal looked at the problem, the step-by-step answers, and then me, then handed everything to my math teacher and asked her to double-check everything. She looked at the items and just shook her head and said she couldn't understand how I was able to do a math problem she couldn't even understand. My dad produced two books that had mathematical formulae for solving problems that he used in his classes and that I had been studying at home. These books were used at the Master's and Ph.D. level in college mathematics, and it was these formulae that I had been doing my junior high math by.

This! I have a son who always got the right answers, but refused to show his work saying it was redundant. He's a tested genius and felt it was beneath him. Talk about fighting the system for his grades had to be a compromise. He took a lower grade. I told him it was due to his arrogance and attitude. It wasn't because of his ability to know the answers correctly. Oftentimes the students are more gifted than the instructors and the instructors are envious. Great job your dad did when fighting for his child. I'm sure the teacher was dumbfounded. Way to go!

I had a similar problem in my high school Trig class. I had just been dumped by a girl I liked and had my head down in class. The teacher got mad that I wasn't paying g attention to her and made me sit up and watch her work a problem on the chalkboard. As she started the problem, I raised my hand. She answered, yes Mr. McClary? I said, " you're doing the problem wrong. She went on about how said had a master's in mathematics and I told her I didn't care, she was doing g the problem wrong. She went back to the problem and, she got the wrong answer. My classmates laughed. She told me that, since I know so much, come do the problem myself. I did that problem and, the next two, turned to the class and said, if anyone needs my help, I'll be in the back sleep... I should add, I help my mom with her college algebra homework when I was in the 3rd grade.

I've experienced similar, too! I attended a school that had 39 Black students. All but 7 were in a special class. The school was going to lose federal dollars, so they transferred the class and located it in a secluded part of the building. The rest of us were academic transfers or their parents were teachers in the district. I was in the 10th grade and usually the only student of color in my class. My Math teacher didn't have a permanent room yet and shared. One day, the tenured teacher asked me if I had borrowed part of her Math game. She said it was missing after my class was there last time. I replied I hadn't played with her game. I didn't even know she had one! She said she was sure I had borrowed it. I was the only one it could be. I again told her it wasn't me and I hoped she found it. In the middle of my class, I let out a loud gasp and said oh! My teacher asked my problem. I had just realized the teacher me of stealing. I was so hurt! I went through other "I can't be that smart" or "I must have ..." incidents. But I survived!

The whole thing about the cell phone was ridiculous when it was around his desk. Clearly he would have looked for it or dialed it and having her find it underneath the desk was bizarre. This is a shortcut that I am surprised Soulsnack took when the cheating accusation plot was good by itself. Plus she was Captain Porters niece when officer Adams broke her taillight trying to frame her and now she is his daughter. I also have it on good authority that she lied to her uncle/father and she DID NOT go to her cousin Bens birthday party after she promised that she would.

The whole thing about the cell phone reminds me of an old Russian joke. Vladimir Lenin lost his favorite cap and called Felix Dzerzhinsky: "Someone stole my cap!" A few minutes later, Lenin looked at the floor and saw his cap on it. He called back Dzerzhinsky: "I just found my cap!" "Too late, Dzerzhinsky replied, ten people already confessed".
