i was one of the people in your room at csssa this summer, so it’s cool to see how much you can transform a space with decorations! It looks so cozy! And good luck with those chairs... i fell to my death in the exact same chair and got a pretty decent bruise on my hip. Oh, and the bathroom locks... not fun when both sides always forget to unlock the other side of the door

This gives me so many memories from CSSSA and the dorm I stayed in! We had Aqua Notes in the shower where we and our suitemates would write and doodle notes for each other. OH AND THE CHAIRS, I was so TERRIFIED of the chairs, so I usually worked in my bed instead lol I love what you did with your room, it makes the room feel so open and home-y! So excited to see your art journey!

For as illustrious as Calarts is, it’s dorms are kinda leaving a lot to be desired :( Still very proud and happy for you though!! Such a huge achievement :)) and so much fun living as an art student I imagine! Maybe not the sheer workload, but just living in an environment where a lot of people are as in deep as art as you are. GOOD GOLLY THAT SOUNDS LIKE A BLAST!! Makes me wish I could rewind time juuust a bit so I could’ve gotten in and made friends with people like you :( Buuut I think I’m having equal fun vicariously living through vids

Hiii! Loved the video! But I think for all the fame CalArts has, the conditions for living are pretty bad... everything is old.... For that high of a price point, I think CalArts should be at least offering you better conditions. That's just my point. I really hope I'll go to CalArts one day. I'm a 14 year old girl that loves to draw. The problem here is that I live in a different country in Europe ( Moldova, you probably don't know it) and my family is poor. I want to be an animator at Disney, but here in Moldova, we don't have any possibilities to develop in this field. And another problem is that my nattive language isn't English. I still dream about attending this university. Every penny I get I'll save for the tuition. Your videos inspire me, and someday I hope I'll be like you. Thank you🌻💛

Chill and relax sure this building is old and has funky plumbing but the living conditions aren’t bad at all??? In fact our rooms are way bigger than most schools and we get good food on a meal plan. Everything functions and if it doesn’t, maintenance teams come and fix it immediately. Sure it’d be nice to have updated accommodation but so much of the school’s money goes to high end equipment like our crazy up-to-date cintique lab and expensive animation programs or music performance spaces etc etc. The other facilities are old but they aren’t bad at all. The money also goes towards the school’s health insurance which increases at a different rate of inflation (America’s problem, not calarts) hence the constantly rising tuition.

My daughter's dorm in CA was for 8 girls. 4 rooms with 2 girls each. I think 2 bathrooms, a living room for all to share, and kitchen for all to share, but no stove. She came home with more stuff than she left with. Most of the earthquakes here are not that bad, not sure what area of CA you are in. I was here for the '89 Loma Prieta quake, that was bad, a bridge over the bay broke. in Southern CA there was the Northridge quake which was pretty bad.
