The game is beautiful and I’m Getting it. But they have to fix the side steps. You shouldn’t be able to side step 5-6 yards to the side. So time down the junking and the deep pass. But I love what I’m seeing for the most part.

Here let me help you a bit. No one including Ryan expects the game to be 1000% perfect. Not even 80% But there are things that should literally never happen in a video game that have been happening for going on 8 years+ now, they should have been ironed out. That same issue of the OL turning around and trying to block players that are out of the play mathematically has been happening in Madden since BEFORE Frostbite came along and ruined so much more. For Example pre Frostbite with Ignite. Players would go out of their way to block upfield almost to a fault where they would get in your way because while it relied heavily on animations it was not animation dependant like Frostbite is Everyone expects bugs and anomalies. We don't expect things that should NEVER happen to still be happening with a price tag of almost $100 especially when they've been seen in more than 5 games now

Does this game look better than madden, yes. Are its modes more in depth and better than madden, yes. But when it comes to gameplay, its just slightly better than madden, which is not a good thing. Players are still getting sucked into animations which is why goofy things like this happen. If an NFL player is confused by the AI logic in your SIMULATION football game, thats a huge problem.

Let me dissect this video: 2:02 The blocker wasn’t even close enough to the defender to block him before vick cuts in and runs into him 2:52 That’s fair but not the biggest deal 3:56 This happens in every football game except from backbreaker and that game had a lot of problems 4:43 This actually makes the game more realistic because how would the lineman have known the qb was about to run out of the pocket towards his direction so him turning around is reasonable not even to mention that it’s vick fault he ran into him I’m not a ea defender I actively hate what they do with most games they make but this one looks good let’s not try to bring it down

The Tackle turning around originally is realistic. Getting beat and then still trying to get a hand on the end makes sense. However, logically speaking, the moment the Tackle sees the QB got away from the End the Tackle should hop out of the way and clip the end from chasing the QB. You know, real time physics and stuff.

The biggest thing I would harp is if you got beat to get back on him cause you never know if the QB beats him or out maneuvers him but logically speaking you want him to get back on the end because you’re thinking pass first. The issue is because of how lineman are in this game where they are basically tethered to the defender on like an imaginary string the linemen just ran in a straight line, which is unrealistic. If that tackle were to turn, jump to the side and then run after the End, this would’ve been my biggest harp on how excited I am for this game. Or at the very least they have a minor collision, the QB pushes off and even though he loses some momentum the tackle doesn’t out right tackle him. Cause that’s just complete garbage programming.

For all the people who didn’t bother watching the stream, Mike Vick did NOT get mad, he literally spent most of the time praising the game and how “fluid” it felt. yes vick ran into an ai controlled player... that was showing broken code by running backwards instead of downfield. he had 3 linemen vs 2 so running was just as open as throwing checkdown. The lineman also backed into the rb without any player interaction. those 2 things are broken aspects of the game. the ai hasn't been programmed to switch off their block or position and move to empty space based on what's going on.

EA doesnt want to remake their football games from the ground up because they are already insanely profitable, but i dont think they realize how many people actually have stopped purchasing their games and would jump at the opportunity to come back if they showed real interest in starting over. Oh and guess what we are all in our 30s now and dont mind blowing cash on something worth while.

Forget about all the cool new modes, stadiums, unique band songs, mascots, atmosphere and all of that.... the game is still going to play 90-95% like Madden. It would start with a completely new, physics based engine with 0 animations outside of cutscenes. And you have to hire ppl that understand football at a fundamental level - not just highly skilled software engineers/artists, most of whom don't care about football. From there they would need to build a new football game from the ground up and they should not add any cutscenes/presentation fluff until the core gameplay is (close to) perfected. the problem is there is not enough money in this so it will never happen.

the problem is that the game is built on a bad foundation of madden. i dont expect the game to be perfect, but i think its a good start. as long as EA continues to let these guys work, improving the game, and not just copy paste this game for the next 6 years i think it will get there eventually.

In both situations, Clint did exactly what he was supposed to do. First situation he scans for some one coming in his area. 2nd situations the he is wondering why is my qb running right into me. That was on Vick he had a open lane but instead he ran into the 6'6 310 LT

On the play where Vick runs into the lineman, what was the lineman supposed to do. He can't run upfield to block any of the pass defenders, because if the ball is thrown its a penalty. He has his back to the QB, he doesn't know that he is scrambling, in a situation where Vick panics and tries to scramble instead of take the open receiver. He does know that the pass rusher he blocked is behind him and he turns to see Vick run into him.

It’s honestly crazy, because overall, I’d say the gameplay deviates from Madden a lot at times, but then you have broken offensive line logic and those damned weird animations, the quarterback throwing and models just look so much better too, hope EA can put some more effort into the gameplay because so far, they’ve done an amazing job, the first football game I’m personally buying since M19. I don’t expect things to be perfect, nothing is perfect, I just want to see less of those broken logic issues.

as soon as the QB starts scrambling, linemen should be programmed to run upfield. could create a few scenarios of ineligible receivers downfield, which is fine. it’s part of the game

yup this is why i'm dubious any time i see the words "new animations" when i see photos/videos of men in mo-cap suits i drop all positive expectations because i know i'm going to see those unnatural, scripted animations they're producing 50 times a game no matter how many animations they add, the CORE animations that affect the majority of plays are in the dozens - you constantly see them and they've been the same for years simulation sports video games are DOA as long as they depend on animations and mo-cap suits this is the fundamental problem with animation based sports games. they get old and predictable after a month because you start to see the same animations.

The game is programmed to where the O-line prioritizes pass blocking as opposed to run blocking for the QB in this situation. When an O-lineman gets beat and the defender is more than 3 yards by him and the QB has still not gotten rid of the ball after about 3 seconds, the O-lineman's priority needs to be to run downfield to block for the QB in the direction the QB chooses to go into. There have been incidents in college football where bumping into a teammate happened (such as Johnny Manziel against Alabama) but this should not be as common place as it has been within Madden and CFB EA Sports games in the last 5-10 years, especially in the run game where you don't feel like you're fully in control of your player and are just bouncing around like a pinball. They need to fix this programming, it's making Vick look like complete shit at the game when he's probably not too shabby at it.

I will say having people not block on a kick off is not that uncommon. I think the linemen dropping too far back is an issue but again linemen do make that mistake sometime and the user running into his lineman seems like a user error, although I know it is a frustrating thing to have happen.

2:09 i get it, it is weird to see the left tackle do absolutely nothing but in this games defense (and this is a game not a simulator at least thats how ive always viewed sports games) but Vick took the complete wrong angle on that run he literally ran into a wall of defenders on the left side and completely ignored the wide open right side sometimes players who are playing the game just suck lol. but i do agree very weird to see so many blockers not do much all i'm saying is he could've had a positive play
