@akilbrazier14218 жыл бұрын
+Winnie Cooper But you have to take into account how much it cost to make the movie. It cost like, I think, $400 million to make overall. 250 was the budget and they spent 150 on marketing. It needed $800 million to break even plus it was supposed to make a much bigger profit. You're right that $870 mill is not a small number, but it's not nearly what WB was expecting or wanted. This movie should've easily made a billion and been the highest grossing comic book movie ever for obvious reasons that were already stated. Had it been a much better movie, it would have. All in all, it was a disappointment. Not a BIG disappointment, but still a disappointment.
@akilbrazier14218 жыл бұрын
Winnie Cooper I mean I see where you're coming from, but Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman are bigger and more iconic than any of the Avengers put together. BvS was a once in a lifetime comic book movie event. Had it been good and enough people went back to see it multiple times, it definitely could've done Avengers money if not a little bit more. That's just what I think.

No, they can't do that - because Jonathan Kent is already dead. He was the heart of that storyline and without him, it just loses a huge chunk of its humanity. Now of course you could switch the role of the lost parent over to Ma Kent, but I'd rather they didn't kill off Superman's last parental figure. He needs SOMEONE to confide in other than Lois.

Yes the mos smallville fight is still the best dc movie fight,but there some marvel fights scenes that equal it or is better then it.

+TheCell111 no. The airport scene in CW is actually boring as hell. The only "cool" thing about it is how long it is. Absolutely nothing we haven't already seen before a million times w the exception of Giant Man, which did nothing for me personally. Break that scene down into individual moments and it's as bland as the action scenes from the CW/ABC shows.

I totally agree with you, the Smallville fight scene was something we'd never seen before in a film and blows me away every time. The action in Civil War was a shakycam and fast-cutting mess that reminded me of the dreadful editing in Quantum of Solace, plus there weren't any stakes in the airport scene as they kept stopping every few seconds and joking with each other.

I just finished Jessica Jones and my thoughts haven't changed. It's incredible. Jessica Jones is chilling, psychologically thrilling, unpredictable, and feels totally real, integrating the supernatural in an incredibly believable way. It also has its own identity, totally separate from Daredevil's tone, yet fits squarely into that same grimy underbelly of the MCU. If you haven't watched it yet and you're expecting more of the same, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. And if you like gritty detective fiction and haven't watched Daredevil yet, there's absolutely no prerequisite to jump right into this. The show really takes it's time with the storytelling to flesh out characters and deliver on all the aspects of a show that are needed to make it great and worth watching. Another thing I really appreciated is that the show was able to have a really strong and likable female lead without being obnoxious and heavy handed about feminism. No one makes a big deal out of her gender and it's rarely even brought up. And when it is there's a legitimate reason for it. It's definitely a really slow burn but it really picks up after episode 6. I just wish everyone would stop comparing the damn show to Daredevil and just judge it on it's own terms. They have completely different writers, directors, and actors. They share a few executive producers in name only. That's it. And this is a completely different story and character. This is a psychological thriller not a straight up crime drama. This show is fantastic and deserves to be judged solely on it's own merits. I really like Mike Colter as Luke Cage but he didn't get a lot to do aside from being Jessica's friend with benefits. That's my biggest complaint about the series. I'm interested to see if he'll be able to support his own show and from the looks of this trailer he definitely can. I'm very excited for this show.

Here's how you give each squad member their moments: Harley - Everyone's stuck on what to do next she suggests something ridiculous that no one would think of, and it works. Deadshot - Makes an impossible shot, plus the rapid fire duel-wielding we got. Captain Boomerang - Everyone's trapped due to heavy gunfire, Deadshot can't even get a shot off, so while trapped behind a pillar Captain Boomerang throws razor and explosive boomerangs to take out the gunmen. Killer Croc - Show him deflecting blows, and tearing people and things apart that no one else can. Diablo - I liked him as a pacifist. His moment was when he talked about his family. But don't do a flash back, let his acting do the storytelling. Slipnot - Show him using his ropes when engaged in hand to hand combat, to tie someone up effortlessly.

MoS - 9/10, I love this film so much so I became a Superman fan because of it. BvS TC - 6/10, was 7.5 prior to seeing the UE. BvS UE - 8.5-9/10, the version they should've released, such a great film. Suicide Squad - 7.5/10, I can't remember my original score but it has been downgraded. I enjoyed the film and I walked out happy. I hope there's a sequel, and I hope that all the surviving characters come back, such a fun cast.

I LOVE Man of Steel but acknowledge that there is a divide on this take. Thus my pitch for Man of Steel 2, and the most wise approach to defining who Superman is-as a likable character- is Superman vs The Elite. It'd be the perfect story to physically challenge him while on Earth without krytonite and most importantly define his moral stance for audiences.

Blue ruin and Green Room are awesome and it would be sick to see what he would do with Superman or any superhero for that matter. One of my favorite directors right now for sure.

i wanted SS to be dark and match the tone of BVS this could have been a masterpiece if it were edited different, rated r, and focused on joker and harleys story more and didnt cut almost all of the joker scenes out of the movie with pop music to make it tween friendly.

I wish they would revive the "Reign Of The Supermen" story that takes place after Kal-El's death in the comics. John Henry Irons was a GREAT character, and the series was well written, really good story overall.

I love the idea of Superman taking on Mongul in War World. That will help with the issue of having no Clark Kent since they killed him off in BvS. And maybe it is a way to introduce the Green Lantern Corp as well.

I'm excited for MoS 2, for a few different reasons. 1) I think Cavill deserves a second MoS movie I think. 2) according to the report, they really want to get the character right for the fans. I liked how they portrayed him in MoS, for the most part. But I just wasn't a fan of how they portrayed him in BvS. Not a big fan of the movie either. Sure, he can doubt himself. Sure, he can question wheather or not the world is safer with him there. But when he's depressed and sad all the time, when he goes around asking for everyone elses opinion, when the ONLY real decision he makes in the movie leads to his death, then you're not portraying Superman. He shouldn't have to die in order for the world to appreciate him. His death should make humanity weep, not make them realize that he might have been a good guy after all. It's okay to have an arc through several movies, but his ideals, morals and even his optimism, should have been something he's had since he was a kid. At least in my opinion

Should they call it Man of Steel 2 or call it Superman? Yeah, WB knows for sure now that they need to get Superman back on track as the character most fans grew up with and make him the symbol for hope and optimism.

+Captain America Hydra Agent Since the first one was Man of Steel, how about Man of Tomorrow? Since that's one of his other aliases. Superman: *insert title here* works fine too, I guess. And yeah, you're right.

+Winnie Cooper That's a problem that's always going to be there. It's the same thing in the MCU. We just have to accept that it's a standalone movie and that other heroes won't show up. Unless they take their time to adress why the other heroes can't show up.

I believe you might see Halle Berry as Storm in the X-Men TV show for two reasons; 1.) Halle Berry has expressed interest in playing Storm again and 2.) She is currently working for TV money in Extant on CBS. Actually, I have a third reason, now that I think about it. Storm has taken a leadership position at Xavier's school, she could be instrumental in trying to bring in the young mutants. I would love to see Halle play Storm again and for a longer period of time, Despite the first movie and the Catwoman debacle, she is a very good actress.

We enjoyed Suicide Squad and even with the bad third act. I would love to see the director's real cut to see the difference. BvS and MOS were really great in the DVD versions.

Two issues I had with Suicide Squad was that most of Harley Quinn's jokes or quips were flat and there were scenes in the film that were so dark visually that I couldn't tell what the hell happened. Cause with the combination of a dark theatre and a big dark scene completely done at night made certain things are to see.

1. Remember... this version of Superman (Snyder's version) can only fly outside of Earth as far as the Moon. If there are portals, that would be a cool way to get him to wherever, and/or Green Lantern.

I loved Jessica Jones :) It was character driven which is completely new for Marvel. It wasn't about Jessica changing or growing as a character. She didn't need to change, she wasn't the problem. The series about spiritual healing and becoming whole with ones self. She was raped, she was violated in every way imaginable. John believes she was no different by the end but this is simply untrue. Throughout the series she was haunted by her previous tormentor. She made unwise choices all in the sake of saving a girl who was violated just as bad as she. She thought that she could take Kilgrave out through the legal system, that justice would be served. She was naive and she failed at achieving her task, she let her emotions get in the way. She was an emotional wreck and while the show wasn't about punch punch kick it gave an interesting and complex look into the mind of a person who's will was taken from them and then they seek justice upon them. Once she kills her tormentor, she's no longer plagued. John took issue with her not accepting her calls at the end of the finale but she was coming to the realization of something her friend did a year ago *she's overqualified* and she's bored. She could be doing so much more, she contemplates. Its in this moment that she decides that the call that she wants to answer is the one to be a hero. The shows premise was brilliant and it was wonderfully executed. The female empowerment was there, but they didn't hit you over the head with it. Jessica's friends are better than Matt's IMO, and Trish is certainly more tolerable and useful than Karen. Malcom tossed out a dead body and Foggy gets pissy when Matty gets a bruise. The best action is the action that has substance. Kilgrave? He was particularly heinous, disturbed and sinister and just as equally cocky, arragont and childish. The show was beautiful.

In order to preserve MoS2, it'd HAVE to have Lois as central to the film. So I don't know how that would tie into the "space" idea. It could, but I'm with Schnepp and Campea on that. I like Schepp's "Man Who Has Everything" idea--and it's Lo who has to reach into his mind, and bring him back.
