The Jar Jar story was amazingly clever. Not only did it make sense in the inner star wars story, it was also a perfect reflection of why that character was created by lucas, and his purpose of entertaining children, and how he is ultimately scorned by older star wars fans, as a simptom of a much greater flaw in the prequel trilogy. I feel like Lucas himself needs to read that chapter,if he hasn't already, for it was an incredible tribute and a great show of respect and understanding for his ideas.

I don't know if it is a mystery HOW Snoke knows what he knows? He comes from the unknown regions, the same place the opening crawls go, he simply read them and thus he knows etc.
@PJ-oq9wg7 жыл бұрын
Guys you didn't address the mention of Thrawn and the possibility of him still being alive in the unknown region aboard the Eclipse! Sloan finds the Eclipse out there, i think it could be Thrawn leading it. Palpatine pulls Thrawn away from Rebels and sends him into the unknown because he's somewhat familiar with it
@jeffreyelliott7135 жыл бұрын
Thrawn is lost with Ezra bridger so it couldn't be him on the eclipse but a good guess nonetheless

I listened to all of them on Audible - the combination of the John William's score along with the Star Wars sound effects totally enhanced the experience. Not to mention the amazing voice work that brings to life all the various characters. I have a long commute to work, plus go to the gym and this makes listening to audio books the ideal way to "experience" books along with making the time go by faster. Aftermath 6/10, Life Debt 8/10, Empire's End 9/10 - the overall trilogy taken as a whole 9/10. This is a very essential read, or listen, for Star Wars fans.
@mikeparker57927 жыл бұрын
Andrew Elliott I defiantly agree with you bro. Marc Thompson brings the characters to life in these books. I would give them the same score. Also the way they portrayed Yupe Tashus death in Empire's End was awesome, one of my favorite parts of the book.

My favorite part was when lil Gally was talking about "THE OLD REPUBLIC", "THE SITH EMPIRE" and "WHAT LIES BEYOND THE OUTER RIM?". This brings in ALL kinds of possible story lines into cannon. Yuuzhan Vong maybe???
@anthonyshepherd-keys44277 жыл бұрын
joshua rodriguez if only
@jasond0117 жыл бұрын
Sadly, the Yuuzahan Vong after reading the second book with them is where the old EU lost me :( I didn't like that story arc, felt it was reaching for something more sensational to happen, including the death of Chewie, not that it wouldn't be the natural progression of things to lose a main character, rather they just didn't fit, to me, for some reason.
@ComanderScar7 жыл бұрын
joshua rodriguez in all honesty, i hope the yuzhan Vong never come back to canon. Might just be me, but I never liked that idea. Just didnt fit
@joebaumann36207 жыл бұрын
They did keep it in canon that the Chiss are out there in Wild Space and even say how Thrawn gave the Emperor quite a bit of info about what is out there and how to get there. I don't think they are going to a new galaxy but simply to the parts of this one that are uncharted (and that seems to be about half the galaxy). If it takes the fastest ships days or weeks to get to places in the same galaxy it would take centuries to make it to another galaxy even if you spent the whole time in hyperspace. Unless a race like the Vong that have been travelling for generations to get here and that is who they are going to meet. I don't think they'll ever bring in the Vong but I can see the Emperor having quite a bit stockpiled where no one can get to it. And that is where the map leads them.
@joebaumann36207 жыл бұрын
I liked it because it was something different and the Force just didn't work the same with them. If the Empire was still around when they made it to the galaxy in the old EU they wouldn't have gotten far. I don't see them leaving the galaxy with so much of Wild Space unexplored and knowing from TFA that is where The First Order is based and has been building for decades.

Wendig did a fantastic job on this book and the overall trilogy. I agree with Ken on the overall score. Any canon junkie has to read these three books because of the loads of information within the story and in the interludes. Wendig definitely got better at making the interludes relevant to the current setting as the series went on. The four or five chapter conclusion of Empire's End is the most exciting writing in the new canon, in my opinion. Lots of answers and lots of questions. There is no doubt in my mind that Sloane will find Snoke in the Unknown Regions.

Great book. I get harloff's complaint about Rax ending up a weak villain, but I think that was the point. The true villain of the story is Palpatine still. Rax was only ever a cog in the contingency machine, no matter what he thought. Plus a REALLY funny trolling of all the people who bizarrely thought he'd be Snoke.

What do you think happened to Rae salone? I mean how dose snoke come into power. Is she still alive? If the leaks are true about about finn infiltrating a star destroyer do think that Rae and Finn have a connection possible as his mother. I'm curious about this at the moment.

@THEGAMEMASTER3327 жыл бұрын
Koios Ronin OMG Thats an amazing theory.
@pawa1017 жыл бұрын
It is just a speculation but a possibility. I mean lets say Finn is Rae Salonns Son. You could make the case that in order to keep her loyal to the First order or keep her in check. They took Finn. For all we know she could be in control of the Eclipse or another star destroyer. If the leaks are true and Finn infiltrates a star destroyer you can make the case that Rae would recognized him and confront him. I mean if finn is a child of the force and his strong will would allow him to refuse the conditioning that the first order installs. That would fall in live with his mother who was a strong will women herself. I mean whats stopping her from making the same choice Finn dose. I mean she and nora shared a moment and she almost went with nora to join the new republic she may have became disillusioned with the first order. Who knows maybe she is providing Nora with intel and Finn is the only one who can save her or retrieve the info she was unable to send out. In my opinion i feel that Finn is going to be the Kyle Katarn of the Star wars Universe. Their origins are very similar and I can see finns story arcs mirroring Dark forces or Jedi outcast. what do you guys think?

*SPOILER ALERT* I think something that you didn't mention was the ship, the Eclipse, that Rae Sloane and Brendal Hux boarded. This was the same Super Star Destroyer from the EU comics Dark Empire 1 and Dark Empire 2. I think that it was cool that the ship was "sneakily" slid into Canon. I would like a story about the Captain of the Ship and how Palatine send them into the Unknown Region before the battle of Endor. The mention of Thrawn in the book for the Unknown Regions makes me wonder if he was sent out to Wild Space to combat the threat he mentions in the novel "Thrawn". This would take place after his run on Rebels ends because he destroys the "Rebel" base and then the Emperor send him out to Wild Space because Thrawn gets word from the Chiss of a growing threat. Thoughts?

absolutely not. There's not a single hint that Thrawn will end with Rebels. Whereas almost all recent news/ hints/ facts connect Thrawn more and more with the First Order and the unknown regions. On the other hand, we don't know that Thrawn "is already there waiting the arrival of the rest of the empire". For all we know, Snoke is there waiting the empire.
@Z0mgXenu17 жыл бұрын
just wait til rebels ends. Its pretty obvious thrawn wont live to see a new hope. Also, don't you think the battle of jakku could have used a resource as powerful as thrawn? Yet there isn't a single mention of him anywhere outside of the chapter where galius mentions him. why is that? because he's more than likely dead.

I was really hoping that Thrawn WOULD be out in the Unknown Regions with his Empire of the Hand, but I'm pretty sure they're not gonna do that. I read all of the Aftermath novels but I am glad they are over. So disappointed with them, I do not know if it was the writing style that I did not like but it just feels so unsatisfying. A trilogy should have given us so much more substance, maybe it was released too early and Disney does not want them to limit where the movies could go, but what we got was not a in depth storyline to an outlined of history that we already know.The politics was boilerplate plot, compared to other SW novels it did not hold me at all. I look forward to future novels that will flesh out or carry the SW plot forward, but not a fan of Wendig (but would probably buy another SW Wendig novel because it is Star Wars).
