Mindhunter Season 2: Jonathan Groff, Anna Torv & Holt McCallany Interview
One of my favorite shows currently running is Netflix’s Mindhunter. If you’re not familiar with the show, the series started in 1979 and revolves around the early days of the FBI’s serial killer profiling unit. Jonathan Groff and Holt McCallany play a pair of FBI agents who interview imprisoned serial killers in order to better understand how criminals like themselves think, which they then apply to solving ongoing crimes. The series also stars Anna Torv, Joe Tuttle, Albert Jones, Stacey Roca, Michael Cerveris, Lauren Glazier, Sierra McClain and is based on the 1996 book Mind Hunter: Inside FBI’s Elite Serial Crime Unit by John Douglas and Mark Olshanker.
While many series have great acting, or fantastic production design, or amazing directors helming the episodes, what’s unique about Mindhunter is everyone working on the series is at the top of their game. As I watch each episode I’m constantly amazed at the level of detail in every scene, or the way I feel transported to another time and place. I commend everyone making Mindhunter for such amazing work. Trust me; you want to be watching this show.
With the second season now streaming on Netflix, I recently sat down with Jonathan Groff, Anna Torv, and Holt McCallany for an exclusive interview. In the second season, the group has seen their influence grow inside the FBI and they’re being treated with new respect and given more resources. As the season progresses, they’re brought in to consult on the Atlanta Child Murders, interact with Charles Manson, and a lot more.
During the wide-ranging interview they talked about why it took so long to make the second season, the three directors that helmed the nine-episodes (David Fincher, Andrew Dominik and Carl Franklin) and how each of them likes to work on set, what it’s like filming the flying scenes, what were they nervous to film, and if the goal is to still do five seasons.

MindHunter is probably one of my favorite tv shows because its so well made and it gives me shivers everytime. Everything becomes so intense, the film making, music and actors. Everything is well made. It gets so intense that i can't even breath or blink. Perfect show!

Saw the entire second season in a day, loved it. The makeup for who played Berkowitz was insane, he looked just like the actual guy. Hope I won't have to wait another two years for another season

Kristian Hestås apparently season 2 took two years because the script writing wasn’t good enough so they had to rewrite everything from the first episode to the finale which heavily postponed filming and editing

I absolutely adore Anna Torv, not only is she drop dead gorgeous she is a brilliant actor. The work she did on Fringe was amazing. The way she played multiple versions of herself actually felt like two different characters that not many actors could pull off. To me she is and forever will be Olivia Dunham. She is made and built for FBI/secret agent type rolls with her at the lead. Truly one of the best in the buisness

I enjoyed this season even more then the first, I watched the whole season on Friday, the day it dropped on Netflix! I loved that they showed more of their personal lives too, the first season was all about Holden, so it was nice to get to learn more about Bill Tench, and especially more about Dr Wendy Carr, especially since my main reason to start watching it last season was because of Anna Torv being in it! Though in the end I probably would have checked it out even if someone else was playing Wendy Carr, because it is a good show!

This show banks on superb acting and writing. Before, i watched Hannibal but it was too unsettling. Mindhunter though is just the perfect balance of psychology, suspense, and drama. See you in 2021.

Your show has much more value than "Entertainment" you are spotlighting those whose deaths were never accounted for. I was thrilled to hear Atlanta is reopening the child murders cases. I lived thru that time and had young children myself and even though i lived in a suburb of Atl and my children weren't black it didn't matter. every child that was found or missing sent me to my knees. With today's tech maybe we can give closure to past wrongs. During your first season, in one of the discussions someone said when asked, what would make someone write to the press and was answered, Narcissism. Isn't todays problems with Mass shooters the same drive? Kill People while posting to you tube?
