@04:55 Caldwell talks about their making Dr. Hoffman a female character and changing the name from Julius ( the original name of the Hoffman character was referred to as Julius ) changing the name from Julius to Julia. Curtis liked the idea and history was made . Singer /actress Lovelady Powell was rumored to have also auditioned for the role of Julia Hoffman. Ms. Powell had the same kind of Julia vibe as Grayson but clearly actress Grayson Hall won the role and the hearts of the fans. @06:59 Caldwell mentions how writer Sam Hall was brought onto the show after Grayson Hall's Julia character was already well established on the show. Grayson had been hired for the show first while Sam at the time was out of the country. Then months later Dan Curtis met Grayson's husband Sam and they talked. Curtis then hired Sam as a writer on the show.

Love this interview with Joe! It's a shame the volume isn't louder in the interview! It makes it very hard to hear what is being said!

I think he doesn't pronounce his words clearly, it's loud enough for me but I have to strain to understand him.
