I'd love to know when they shifted the timeframe of the past so that the first time-travel arc was in 1797. I'm watching the first season now -- back when it was first airing I was a young teen and found it during that arc -- and they talk about the building of Collinwood, Josette and Jeremiah in the early 1800s.

I know im in the minority but i liked dark shadows better before barnabis....however if they had cast barnsbes with a true sexy leading man the women would have went crazy and watched for years ...but instead they chose a not so great looking campy actor who appealed to kids ...thats wjy they burned out so fast curtis ran out of crazy time travel ideas....had they appealed yo women instead of kids it would have lasted much much longer....oh well it is truly a cult classic!!

I am a grown woman and Barnabas appealed to me as a kid and now as a older woman. You are definitely in the minority.

I’m afraid I have to disagree as well. I loved Barnabas/Jonathan when I watched the show as a child, and that didn’t change when I came back to the show as an adult. From what I understand, Barnabas/Jonathan received hundreds of fan letters every week after he became popular, and a good portion of them were from adult women. Many of them included pictures of themselves, some in various stages of undress. He was THE MAN!

I thought Frid played the role with aplomb and can't imagine anyone else channeling Barnabas so capably; however, I was besotted with Quentin.

@@showboatjamboree2780 OMG, yes. As a teen it was definitely Quentin. Although I had a crush on Joel Crothers before that, and also on James Storm, who played Gerard Stiles. But never Barnabas; I thought he was an old man. Now I'm way older than Jonathan Frid was at the time, LOL.
