Who do you think will be ranked #1 at the end of 2023?

It wouldn't surprise me if Jmook was ranked number one at the end of the year, he plays almost perfectly, but melee's meta has never been more in a state of flux than it is now. I think IBDW with a sponsor and more time to practice could become number one and his commitement to fox gives him an edge over players trying to pick up shiek to beat Zain.

Im pulling so hard for Amsa! My guy has been grinding for YEARS and left his homeland to move to Canada, all in the name of melee. A real life Cinderella story

@@captain_cannoli5566 Amsa getting number one would be so cool and I think it's def possible

I'm a small-beans TO and an organizer for another community, and both the burnout and the churn of new hopefuls are so real. Though I do think some of that burnout and churn is about people changing their priorities after a couple of years -- totally natural. Organizers in one scene do hard work, get overdone, then usually organize in a new space they're excited about. I just wish we had better support for organizers during their work, a better culture of stepping back before true burnout, and better structures for experienced (and not burnt out) organizers to help in smaller ways after their summit.

It was Alukard that hosted Revival of Melee not Scar. Although my first tournament was a SPOC tourney in 2009 held by scar, it was ROM that made us all think our survival was possible

I LOVE this video format! But would recommend either putting the commentator cam in a corner of the video while the montage of footage related to the story plays. It just feels weird to cut to just the commentary in your homes in front of mic, it pulls me out just a little bit.

So few of the matches from top128 got in stream . So many talented players couldn’t show literally the world their gameplay . They paid good $ to attend the tourney that is their one place to grow a fanbase .. unless they just play entirely off stream

Magi vs swift in top128 had like 3 live viewers lol (the people standing there). Someone was recording it but I can't find the video on youtube so it might just be lost footage now, and I'm sure there's many other sets like that. It was a super close set though and swift was playing on the prism which made it a bit more interesting
