That is a terrible installation. The slot cut in the keel was inevitable to accommodate the larger propeller, but it could have been trimmed and fared much better as the state of the propeller surroundings are very unsymmetrical and it will introduce vibration due to the turbulence ahead of the lower blades of the propeller by those sharp edges at the keel ahead of the propeller. There is enough space to fill in and taper the deadwood from the sternpost to close to the front of the propeller, including tapering that deadwood in the keel just ahead of the propeller. That slot behind the propeller could be rounded off, feeding more solid water to the rudder. That long overhang of the stern tube could easily have fared. After taking all that effort to produce a good propeller, with its static and dynamic balance, and shape to ensure efficient hydrodynamic performance, why spoil it all with such a bad unsymmetrical environmental space around the propeller. It would not take much effort to improve what was shown in this video.

do you work with boats? I could make some guesses that could be made on the helix part.
@carmelpule69544 жыл бұрын
@@minhapescaminhavida2264 Yes, I work with boats and I come from a family of boatbuilders dating back to 1708. I designed a few propellers and rudders for both heavy displacement hulls and fast planning hulls and I am a consultant to a small boatbuilding concern that builds boats up to 40 feet. I feel that there is a lot of dynamic water flow unsymmetric entering the face of the propeller and with a little effort, the streamlining of the rear part of that boat, including the keel notch could be made much better. The shape of the propeller is correct for that type of working hull, and the size seems to be well-matched both for the work required of it and its matching to the engine. It is the streamlining of the parts that would disturb the water entering the propeller that needs improving. I would not be surprised if the leading edge of the propeller will show signs of cavitation and the propeller will create a vibration and noise. Note that water does not like to go around sharp corners and you have left many sharp corners in that installation. With a propeller, its choice and installation are the final elements that will transform the power of the engine to the hull of that boat. One should seek to get the maximum performance out of the propeller by following some natural dynamic rules of nature.

friend, the vessel is very slow... what could I do to make it faster? I believe there is something wrong with the propeller, can you help? thank you!
