Having watched one or two people playing train simulator before - and rarely getting more than a couple of minutes in before losing interest - I approached this with substantial scepticism and the reassuring thought that I could always turn it off. 48 1/2 minutes later... I needed a lie down after several bouts of literally crying with laughter. Well played sir.

'You need to Flip the locomotive around before....' you did repeat that before going onto the turntable, and then drove straight forward of the tt. and then: 'oh what is that marker, oh it's here on the roof. Well need to do something there.' ....and hè backs the loco to the back of the train a Mile away from the marker ROFL

Map is 9 key!!!!! also, couple to the front of the train! There is a free roam camera mapped to 8 key, you can change switches and such with it.

Will Roberts train simulator is made for hardcore rail fans. as a rail fan I knew exactly what to to do and where to go and was shouting madly at he screen.

It's just bad game design when a new comer doesn't know what to do. Had the game held his hand there would be no need to shout madly at the screen.

And I play a fair bit of DCS World (modern air combat sim) which has a set of basic and advanced tutorials, and easy modes which allows new comers to flight sims (like myself) to at least know how to play. That then prompted me to study real life documents on air to air radar, munitions, electronic counter measures, (ect). By not having substantial tutorial the game is missing out on a larger audience and the potential to create more rail enthusiasts.

I love how blowing through switches doesn't deduct points. If a switch isn't in your favor, you can cause pretty serious damage and a large repair bill! Of course not that our lovely Colonel cares, but I just find it funny the game doesn't care lol.

A manifest train is a mixed freight train that goes from point A to point B normally scheduled

Which makes perfect sense, however that's manifest in use as an adjective - they were using it here as a verb, hence it not being a familiar term.

You need to pull up the map for the yard and follow the track to see where you need to go. You have to back up on the side track so when you get to the track you want you'll be facing the right direction. You escape out of it to get to the map.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that the game wants you to connect to the *front* of the train. How one should go about achieving that I do not know, as this game seems to require far more faffing about and learning things than I'm comfortable throwing at it.

MravacKid it's simple as lol. reverse to the points he arrived at correctly and run past the wagons then reverse onto the front. couldn't be simpler if you know trains.

The only game where i literally fell asleep while playing.. no joke. Its utterly boring, no traffic no red signals.. my god. Was hoping for commuter trains but i guess the name is in the title.

It's definitely a specialist taste, but then it's a simulator far more than it is a game. The desire for accuracy tends to be the driving factor for those who are fans of Train Sim, whereas it's simply not something I'm too bothered about. I'll do a drive once in a while for a change, but I'm not who it's aimed at.
