The sir vivan part reminded me of the old tutorial quest from 2009 "unstable foundations" with the white knight Sir Vant helping you slay a dragon in lumbridge. It would be really cool if you could do a video about the many iterations of tutorial we've had!

For those of you in awe of how rs2 beta looked, trust me, it was just that beautiful and MORE. There are many sprites and textures that were only used in rs2beta, especially in karamja that make osrs and rs3 look like an abused afterthought project.

I just turned 30 this year. I was a part of the rs2 beta that was offered to members at the time. Loot parties were huge in classic. The reason they made the decision to disable telegrab in the party room is that in classic, telegrab was an instant spell - in other words, there was no projectile so you would basically pick up an item in a single tick. It became a non-issue with the addition of the animation.

I was there during the beta. Seeing everything become 3D along with the amazing soundtrack was an unreal experience. I still remember someone finding the first Dragon Spear ever seen, obtained from Shadow Warriors.

in the RS2 Beta in the character selection you could make your character a 'lesser demon' model by selecting the last clothing options. When you logged out and back in again you would have an old man face model with jagged beard, black torn top and black torn legs. I hope someone finds this in the cache somewhere. I remember running through fally like it when I was a kid.

Warcraft: Orcs & Humans is a real-time strategy game (RTS) developed and published by Blizzard Entertainment, and published by Interplay Productions in Europe. I dunno if you've heard of it or checked it out, but you should do a vid on Progressive rs2006, it's essentially a server/game emulator that works for every revision from 289-377. It's honestly a massive trip down memory lane and I hope that the beta cache can be implemented into it so it can be played, too. Seeing the beta again after almost 20 years is seriously making me feel nostalgic. Great vid.

I played the beta. When it first released, items were able to be placed onto tables but you couldn't take the item back off the table unless you tele grabbed it. People were literally scamming others using this method LOL. I also remember running around mining and smiting a full set of mithril armour to play around in. Good times.

I got to play the beta back in the day. I remember training hard, getting 30 attack and 20 defense and managed to save for full mith and an addy scimmy and people were asking me how I got it. There were some players that managed to get up to rune during this period as well.

People say rs in 2006-2007 was prime time. For me it was 2004 when i started. Everything was new and i really was out in a land i didnt know what to do, and everyone was exploring the game. I had 2 santa hats and a blue hween mask. I still remember buying my first steel scimitar for 500coins at the farmer under falador. Never been so happy! Wish i kept the screenshots. I still have a hardwaredrive i think from when pestcontrol was released the first months

Warcraft 1,2, and 3 had been around before RuneScape. Also the idea of Orcs being disfigured and aggressive elves is actually from Elder Scrolls and other older fantasy novels

Runescape might have had orcs before World of Warcraft, but Warcraft (the game which WoW is based on) had orcs before both.

I actually probably have an old cache on the PC in my cupboard. It's been sat in there for easily over 15 years because when I upgraded I couldn't get the HDD out, I've been hanging on to it to find a solution (other than drilling out the stuck screw). It was actually my first PC as a kid and a hell of a machine for it's time, it probably even has an old as hell version of World of Warcraft on it as well as many other things lol.

Warcraft was around years before this and the early orcs look very similar, so they may have feared a fight with Blizzard. EDIT: Just to clarify, Warcraft: Orcs & Humans released in 1994 and the orcs had the same red color scheme clothing.

World of Warcraft is an MMO that they made based on the same lore from the 3 Warcraft games. World of Warcraft starts about 4 years after Warcraft III - The Frozen Throne ended.

I played the beta, and the initial combat level adjustment had me playing it all the time. The only thing was, I had no idea that any progress I made wasn't permanent. My pre-teen self was so disappointed when rs2 was finally launched. :(

Can't really replicate it and only someone else that I remembered from F2P at the time would remember but when accounts got migrated into the Beta, at least during the few weeks for F2P, items in your inventory would equip without levels. I remember having a rune pick equipped without having the attack level. The other guy I ran across that did this put rune on a level 3 and was pking in low level varrock wildy with rune on, at level 3. Pretty sweet time.
