What I have learnt is that When it comes to choosing an outfit colour : Contrast-wise : Outfit contrast should not be more that of your natural contrast. Because it creates conflicts between your both your contrast level, your fluidity of contrast is disturbed , from your face to your outfit . Skin-tone wise : When picking any colour, if possible , go for a more warmer/cooler version of that colour that matches your natural skin tone.

True. Agree, it is more important for woman that might wear a full dress in purpule or yeelow, and show a lot of skin. On guys the face is kind of important to frame the right way. I am like the 3th guy in contrast. But I got very dark eyebrows and lighter hair in the summer.

I think most colors become more warm oriented the darker or duller they become while cooler the lighter they are. We find a similar phenomena with height as well, some colors or lack thereof like black make people look taller because of lack of shadows, it's complete darkness, but lack of shadows ALSO happens when the colors are darker and spread out light. So a color I find, whether it's pastel/dull or deep rich, if it's darker it cast less shadows and gives off a warmer tone. Green is a perfect example, dark green looks earthy, reminds us of the ground that leaves are close to and synonymous with, which brown is warmer, the association mentally with the color, though it's naturally cooler, it's association in nature with other colors we seek dark green in leans it to warmness. Dark blue, probably the most natural cool color other than maybe white, dark blue reminds people of the ocean, the ocean is often near the ground not the sky where white clouds and cool air comes from, hence brown because it's seen in the natural environment next to Warmer colors like sand or the swamp where dark greens and browns are. White even with eggshell white, white goes from cool to warm when you darken it, heck if you darken it too much most can't tell the difference between it and tan.

Maaan, the light falling on the wall is being reflected off by the man standing in front, the change of shirt is causing the white wall to follow respective colour's hue. Don't discredit the guy, he did his best.

MM, I have a dark navy herringbone suit. I' ve been surfin' the internet for weeks tryin' to find out what color shirts and texture ties that I could wear wit' it, other then solid color ties and white shirts. Also, is it appropriate to wear non- solids wit' it? e.g., I want to buy a contrast shirt. Light blue wit' a white collar.

Can your undertones change with season. I get very pale during the winter and feel I'm more neutral but I tan in the summer and have a warmer undertone. Also I've never been able to pull of yellows/ oranges as a more warm skin toned person. Also my veins look deep blue near my hands but green towards my biceps.

+Face0Less sounds like you're pretty neutral but I'd have to see a pic. Orange/yellow usually looks best on overtly warm skin. You might be able to wear an unsaturated yellow, though.

some of the information are very good, some are not explained well or presented in a not logical sense. so some confusion...you should distinguish between colour contrast and light-dark contrast.... also why not use colour theory terms like HUE = CHROMA, certain color without any tint, tone, shade; VALUE = light or dark (adding black or white to a colour); SATURATION = how intense is the colour or how less (gray).

There are warmer tones of those colors, but honestly, I wouldn't worry too much about it if that's what you like!

I agree, the important thing to remember if you like those 3 colors only is to look which shade suits your skin tone best. Like for me brown skin tone like chocolate, the royal blue and black fit me the best and then grey that almost looks like silver works for me too. So that is how you have to go about it. But step out of your comfort color box once in a while ;)

I am strawberry blonde with blue eyes and I cannot tan and like ANY fair skinned my veins are blue but I am DEFINITELY a warm skin tone. An autumn to be exact. You definitely overgeneralized there and had some wrong info regarding tone vs depth of color in the skin. Think of red heads and how good they often look in olive green and rust orange. That's a classic autumn which is the warmest of warm colors. Tan or black people can definitely have cool tones (had a Senegalese color worker who had a blue hue to his black skin) and pale people can definitely have warm. You have some great stuff but that generalization needed correcting.

At 4:11 you said, "The camera does not lie." If that's the case, why did the color of the wall behind him change between the two photos? Did the wall get repainted between the two photos? Amateur tip: the photographer's camera was set to automatically adjust the white balance. It did so incorrectly in at least one of the photos. (Probably the "Before" photo.) Because of that, one of the photos does not accurately reflect reality. Therefore, the photo comparison is meaningless to me. I know that I'm not seeing the correct colors.

I don't get this: you can mix colors that are cold and warm beautifully in art and clothes themselves, so why wouldn't you be able to mix them with your face? I think Elijah looks great in dark blue, but not good at all in light blue. It makes him look like a corpse. 12:35 No! I'm an artist! He looks great in blue! Much better than in yellow. You never use such a signal, the strongest color of all, unless you want it to be a focal point. Who would want a T-shirt to be their focal point? This is nonsense.
