Color Changing LED Fog Lights Install - 2000 Dodge Dakota!

In this video, the Dodge Dakota gets a new small mod. A set of color changing LED Fog Lights! A rather simple install, but a very nice addition to the truck!

Glad you like them! They came out great, a nice easy little add on mod! And the hood is an aftermarket fiberglass Cervinis hood. It was actually on the truck when I purchased it, but they should still be available on their website! Thanks for watching!

Thanks man glad you enjoyed it! They should also work well on your Durango! I’ve been pretty satisfied with them so far! Reasonably cheap but works great! And I did show what the fog lights look like for a brief second. I show them around the 7:26 mark and then show some of the color changing features after! Thanks for watching!

So did you cut the original wires to wire the black and red from the fog lights? I bought some Have the original plug but I have a red and black wire with no where to connect then and I’m wondering if I have to cut upwards on the original wires to get the whole lamp working.

I was able to wire in the black and red wires from the aftermarket lights directly into the factory positive/negative wires that were coming off of the factory harness. You should be able to do the same without having to cut that far up. Hope that helps and you were able you were able to get them working! Thanks for watching!

I got those on my 07 dodge ram but not the RGB kind.... can you just get the modular thing to change the color and add onto the light?

I’d say most likely no. The Bluetooth control box has a wire coming out of it that directly powers the color changing halo ring around the light. Hope that answers your question. Thanks for watching!

For my personal application on the Dakota I just tucked them away. I don’t have them hooked to anything. These lights were meant for a Jeep so maybe they went to something on that vehicle but for mine they weren’t needed! Thanks for watching!

I think it would work, I believe these lights are 4 inches in diameter so if you measure the hole in the bumper to verify you should be good! They make a nice touch for cheap! Thanks for watching!

I do not unfortunately, but the fog lights are pretty bright. They’re actually better than whatever main headlights I currently have on my Dakota but I will eventually be upgrading those as well! Thanks for watching!

They were actually on the truck when I bought it. I believe they’re just custom cut and bent pieces of aluminum mesh made to fit the slots in the bumper and grill. Thanks for watching!

They should fit as long as you have the same style bumper. You may have to fabricate your own mounting brackets like I did.. The holes in my bumper and the lights are both approximately 4 inches so they fit great! Thanks for watching!

Not sure of the exact name but I got them off eBay awhile back. They’re just generic led color changing lights. Actually made for a jeep but they were the right size for my Dakota bumper. I’m sure They can be used for a variety of custom uses. Good luck on your build and Thanks for watching!

I actually did nothing with them, I just tucked them away and hid them. These lights were designed for a Jeep so it’s possible those two wires would go to something else on that application. But for installing them on my Dakota I didn’t need them! Thanks for watching!
