I’m extremely fair and cool with a very slight neutral tone and found that light lilac blush looks the best. Normal cool tone pinks still pull really warm and slightly orange on me so usually purple tones will appear like a true cool pink instead. Color theory is crazy!

for anyone who says color theory is a lie this is proof it’s not lol. There’s a thing called undertones, artists use it all of the time. They pick and choose what shades of colors to mix and use so that everything will go together nicely. same thing with makeup, Makeup is an art and that’s why so many rules of art apply the same to makeup

I love the too faced candy clouds blush in the shade cloud crush for my pale skin. At first it looks like a pasty bubblegum pink but for me since my foundation had a more yellow/olive undertone the blush comes out the perfect rose pink. It literally gives me Sabrina carpenter blush vibes

I own that Nyx purple blush and a few bright coral/ orange blushes. Im pretty light skinned, but I love using the bright blush colors, and those NYX ones are so PIGMENTED. I have to apply it in thin layers to build it up gradually so i dont look insane. Monica's videos have inspired me to try brighter and deeper colors than I would normally pick up. My mom is lighter and more pink, and i am a little darker with a more olive untertone and we have been loving trading makeup and seeing color theory at work.

Tbh, I usually wear orange blush, even though I have "weird skintone" (olive, but with over 90% of my skin affected by vitiligo), but I think it comes from the fact I also have rosacea and I got bullied for it, so I don't like how I look in the "more natural looking" blush shades, because they just feel like it's undoing all the color correction I do to mask my complexes

Because she's got a cool undertone, and the blush is mixing with her undertone, the orange is cooled down / neutralized to a pink color. The reason the purple looks so strange on her is because it's cold on cold.

It took a ton of scrolling to find this. I was hoping someone else would have mentioned it bc she looks like a light cool olive to me. I know a lot of people don’t think that’s a thing but it def is! I’m a light neutral/cool leaning olive girlie and the struggle to find the right makeup is so real.
