A quick and dirty way to remember what colors you selected to use for a painting using a set range of colors. Analogous colors are colors in harmony with one another because they are related and next to one another on a color wheel. Typically they are more than two colors and are five or less colors.
The hack is simple, you decide which colors to use then cut or fold a piece of paper and place it over all the unused colors.
It seems simple, but you can't imagine how many people put a color wheel up over the easel and then forget which 4-5 colors they told themself they wanted to use.
