What an incredible time of the year to be traveling through this part of the country! I could be wrong but I think the law against jumping off of the bridge is for the impromptu bungee jumpers - you know the dudes that have all of the equipment & are just looking for a good bridge... The brown water is just a result of tons of silt - really fine dirt. The Colorado River is notoriously brown...

I would imagine the 'no jumping from the bridge' is related to bungee jumping, popular a few years back.

Shit! When I was a Kid living in Colorado, My Parents made me walk across the Royal Gorge Bridge...I was Born with a fear of heights and I thought I was going to die!!!
