We keep up with 3 main jobs while maintaining our driveway during the winter months in the Colorado Mountains. All of this is made easier with the tractor, and Woodmaxx snowblower.

Maybe some strategic snow fence on that drifting area will help. Also with the radon pipe replace that bottom elbow that goes into blower with a tee and a section of vertical pipe dead ended with a removable plug . There a alot if condensation made in that pipe and it will drain through the blower and shorten its life. Best case the pipe is insulated and or run through internal wall and motor set before it goes through roof. .better to pull than push. Also caulk all cracks and opening in slab perimeter stand pipe rack. So it truly pulls from under slab.

The Colorado scenery is magnificent and I miss it. Thanks ever so much for the reminder to keep on shape by cross country skiing and snow shoes. This is one of my favorite self videos, thanks!

Have you guys ever thought of mounting an older 7.5' / 8' Meyers, Fischer plow into the bucket ? It only takes 2 pieces of 1/4'' thick, 4''X4''X12'' angle iron bolted to the inside of the bucket on the bottom. The angles just need a hole big enough for the original pins that are used on the plow frame. The chain is then hooked to a welded center hook on the top center of the bucket, that way the plow can float. Lifting is done by the bucket and the swivel is done manually by having a bolt on the plow. I've done a few of these and they work great. You can stack snow 12' high and they are just like having a normal plow without the hydraulics and really fast for moving snow.

Nope have not thought of that. I think going forward we will keep up with the snowblower and just add some gravel as needed to areas that become packed with ice, that way we are adding gravel and not removing it via plow.

@@ColoradoMountainLiving, I hear ya, but you can also use shoes on plows that basically eliminate that. Just trying to help that's all. Thanks.

We just made reservations in Estes Park at the end of April. Haven’t been out that way since before this pandemic started. We usually go once a year from the Chicago area, can’t wait to get out there, we are looking into possibly buying land this time.

May I ask what trail did you hike on? Sounds like it’s a fun trail with history on it!

Not sure if the trail has a name but it is one that summits Independence Mountain.

That's right! A real 4x4 and with less than a quarter tank of gas! But we took it to the mountains to get our money's worth out of it.
