I am just 7 mins the video but I am so INTO the explanations! As a non-hairstylist, I cannot tell you how much these information come in handy when I want to experiment with hair color (which is ALL THE TIME). The darker jewel tones on you really are so perfect. I also love the black tips look - I've just started seeing it pop up on hair pages that I watch - I think it was referred to as a 'foxtail' colouring perhaps (I can't find the clip). I love the styling at the end too.

Stella, you should release the overalls as merch. I’m a painter, not a hairstylist, and I love my denim apron with paint all over it. Many people other than hair stylists use color. I would buy the overalls if you released them.

Absolutely stunning.beautiful.flattering.intriguing. All at the same time. I am intrigued that a permanent hair colour can achieve this (within this reasonable range) without needing to colour-correct all those various colours in the hair. I'm particularly interested because I have a problem of having natural 8/9 roots and semi-processed mid-lengths/ends which had a semi-perm copper that has faded to lemon-yellow and just won't leave. So I had been assembling a hair colour order when this video came up. I think I want to try this look, also with permanent colour, but with 8/9 roots in strawberry blonde and maybe level 6 copper tips.

I appreciate the education because I’ve been doing my hair red for 8 years and mix shades so I can get a cooler version then what Is usually available as a single box. I bounce between level 10 & 20. Usually prioritizing just depositing (usually doing the same combo every month) but I do occasionally go darker and then lighter etc. it’s good to know what you decide to use for developer.

I sported the combination red and black for a few years in my early twenties, though I had more of a black under layer situation going on. Good times! Now I'm only using plant based colors which make it kinda hard to recreate that look. But maybe I'll give it a try anyway 😊

Nice look, for the application I would have put the Black while sectionning and elevating the hair, the same way you had to do to cut the layers, including the fringe that way all the ends would have black on them and it looks more faded/not so harsh when down.
