Every new bag maker should watch your Skill Builders Series. They are filled with important information that will make them so much happier with their end results. You have so much more to share and teach. Well done Nicole.

Wow. I'm glad I watched this just before going to bed. I will be dreaming of Logi combinations and then routing through my fabric stash tomorrow morning Nicole. Each version you've created looks stunning. I really like the angled stripes. The one with the gold vinyl looks luxurious. Great for an evening out. I wanted to ask please - you mentioned on the striped version you would use foam. Would you use sew in foam or fusible? I do not have a heat press and sometimes struggle with the fusible foams. Thank you once again for a perfect, easy to follow tutorial, definitely food for thought for this sewing bunny who is now off to bed. Best wishes from here in the UK x

Hi Jay! I hope you are keeping well! I use fusible foam, however the answer to your question is a bit more long winded than that since I too struggle sometimes with getting it to adhere, especially to vinyl! This will need to be a quick fix I think! I interface first with woven interfacing, then I spray baste the foam to the vinyl. Depending on the heat tolerance of the vinyl I will then attempt to fuse it with my heat press. If it still doesn’t adhere to my liking I add a strip of light weight interfacing just at the edges to help it stay in place. As an alternative as you mention, I spray baste then topstitch the vinyl through the foam. I also use a glue stick if there are parts that are being especially stubborn. You can also treat fusible as you would sew in, cut to the full size of the exterior and zig zag it to the seam allowance to reduce bulk. Sometimes I opt to trim the top & bottom 3/8” and leave the width at the full measurement and just zig zag the sides. So many options, and now I’m adding this to my list of tutorials to make. 😆

Hi Ruth! I am still planning an updated tutorial for Logi but with my slower than expected tempo this year I have prioritized new content over updates, but it is still on my list! I will have several new videos coming out over the next couple of months.

Hi Suzan! It’s a thread zapper. They are commonly used in beading. I have compared the couple that I have tried here to give the pros and cons if you want to see more detail: Thread Zapper - OKSew Favourite Things kzbin.info/www/bejne/jXy0got5bM6Gi8k

Thank you for yet another great video, I have a question, I want to make this at 115% when I printed it and made one, my side seams did not match up correctly, my center seam allowance i thought was 3/8, do I need to make the fold line and that is what the new seam allowance is? I have watched all the videos with this series, but I did not catch that part when I printed it off and made it, the seams were off about 1/8 inch on the bottom too much.
@OKSew474
@OKSew474 7 ай бұрын
Hi Kelly! Yes, with the Logi pattern printed at 115% the seam allowance at the bottom seam will also be 115% of the original seam allowance and will need to be accounted for; you can measure 3/8 from the fold line, or take a greater seam allowance when you are sewing (it works out to be about 7/16” at 115% so your estimate is close to that, variation may be due to the seam taken at your zipper compared to my estimate). It shouldn’t be a problem if you do the pattern as one piece joined at the fold line, only when you are using two separate halves and joining along the bottom.

What type of vinyl do you use?
@OKSew474
@OKSew474 6 ай бұрын
I use lots of different types - for thinner vinyls I interface, for thicker ones I don’t, so I don’t limit myself to a particular type of vinyl. There are ones that will be more structured and thus more appropriate for the unlined versions; my absolute favorite vinyl is Mora from Emmaline bags, but it is more suited to a lined bag as it is more supple than for example a custom or marine vinyl.

@@OKSew474@OKSew474 Thank you so much. Just by looking online at vinyl its hard to tell which vinyl is thin and flexible enough for a wallet or small cross body. I will look into that vinyl.
