Tamara, you are THE BEST!! I've watched hours, and hours of colour grading videos, and doing various processes to get footage looking a certain way. The way you've broken it down, and explained is the best explanation of doing it, and very easy to follow. Thank you. Not sure how I missed this video of yours, as I watch them all. Time to head out with my OP3 and create some footage, to edit.

The Osmo pocket 3 has a new firmware with NORMAL video 10bit . Isn´t that good enough for content creation ?

Yeah, the Normal colour profile still produces good results. D-Log M is for those who want to have control over the final look of their footage by colour grading it.

I have a LUT called One LUT that I used with black magic camera app for iPhone 15 pro max with Apple log and it looks great. Would I be able to use that LUT with the Pocket 3 in order to match the video with the iPhone? I ask because I do not have the Pocket 3 to test and I am new to color grading.

A thing I really struggle with is matching cameras - I shot something with both Hero12 and Pocket3 (both LOG) and just failed miserably at trying to grade them to look even similar 😂

There is a D log M profile for the Air3. Would that be the same as for the action4 for and pocket3? If anyone knows the details about that.

@TamaraGabrielUK4 ай бұрын
Hi! When you click Cmd+C to copy, click the clip you want to paste the settings to and then hit Shift+Cmd+V. Or you can use an adjustments Layer motionvfx.sjv.io/WqDZOM and apply the settings to that and put the adjustments layer above all the clips.

Thanks so much for this video, it was super helpful for me. Just one question: you said that doing the colour grading will give me a consistent look across all my clips. Does that mean that whenever i plonk a video into final cut pro, the settings that i last used to colour grade my footage will already be there? If that’s not the case, how can i ensure a consistent look without repeating the steps you shared in this video?
@TamaraGabrielUK9 ай бұрын
Try and get your exposure and white balance correct in camera to minimise the need for colour correction in post, then you can create a LUT or preset that you can reuse over and over to colour grade your footage, or buy one for the look you like.

Would you suggest this as a way of rescuing video from a Canon V10 or is the V10 just too awful to bother with? I'm leaning toward even my mobile phone producing better quality video than the Canon V10.
@TamaraGabrielUK9 ай бұрын
I actually wouldn't recommend the V10, I personally don't think it's a good camera compared to what else there is (I did a video about it a little while ago).
@britishtechguru9 ай бұрын
@@TamaraGabrielUK I got the impression looking at videos produced using it that it has a fairly bad overexposure problem and that as it overheats and shuts down after 5 minutes of 4K that it's really a 1080p camera pushed beyond its limits. It has the look as though it was something designed on a beer mat during a drinking session. The engineers took a 1080p camera, spiced it up a little and came out with this little disaster. As I don't fancy forking out the $800ish needed for a basic good camera, I'll probably have a go with an ESP32 and a camera module to make my own 1080p or preferably 4K video camera. It's doable. Might take a few weeks.

@hasyourgulaggotplanningper24596 ай бұрын
That was very useful. Thanks. I have downloaded the DLOG-M to REC709 LUT from DJI. You don't use that? Presumably, your grading or your LUTs do that conversion LUT's work as well as adding a style?

@TamaraGabrielUK Thank you very much! One question if you may help. I am running a decorating business, and my channel will be based on documenting my stages of work, tips, etc. So ultra wide angle is very important for me, as anything below reslut in too much cropping both vertically and horizontally. I have been using vertical shooting for tight space as full ultra wide angle get the distortion very obvious compared to large space. So my question is, would the main lens which I know is 20mm equivalent sufficient? Or if I added the wide angle leans comes with the creator kits offering, notifiable better FOV? And how bad is the distortion? And whether it affects the image quality if wide angle used? If you think Osmo pocket 3 isn't right for what I need, what would be you suggestion. I am really keen to get the osmo pocket 3, for the additional great stuff it offers, especially the size gimbal stabilisation, as well as how it handles exposure shifting, which something even expensive DSLR cannot handle with compromise. Would be much appreciate to hear your input!
