Today I'm looking at the APDS9960 Sensor in colour detection mode to see how it fares in my colour sensor shoot-out!
I've been looking into colour sensors for a particular use case - detection of red, green & blue - for a project I have set myself to complete - based on this awesome video by:
Jonathan Oxer - SuperHouseTV
• Vlog #43: SMEE Robot B...
So I decided to do a shoot-out, comparing all of the sensors I can find.
Let's find out how good this sensor is...

Is there a way to make use of 8 RGB sensors around a TV that controls 8 sections of RGB LEDs for an active backlight effect? Maybe for a cost of ~$30-$40 total???

Apparently that sensor has four in-built IR LEDs. What do they look like in the camera, given that most cameras can pick up a small amount of IR? :)

I am a bit late commenting, but I have to agree with the others. It would be real nice if you were to post your sketch on GitHub. You say it's only a couple lines of code, but that's if you already know how to do it. If you are just starting out seeing and reading through the code is one way people learn. I think this especially true if it can be reduced to as few lines as possible. People can read through a short program and understand what is happening much easier. It's like seeing three(3) moving parts and seeing how it works vs. watching ten(10) parts and understanding how part one(1) changes part seven(7). You should also mention that affiliate links do not cost the buyer anything extra. They will pay the same price either way. I hope that helps you grow your channel. The like should and comments help a lot too. You might be surprised how close to the top you showed in my search for the apds-9960 trying to see people using it for color. Good Luck.
