This round up is one of my favorites of your work EVER! Your pencil gradients are getting so good and ofc your use of the shiny is always spectacular. I love how many shades of color you used in the bear double scene. All that green stayed interesting bc of how your varied it. I also really loved the Nature Mandala dragon flies and my jaw literally dropped at the seahorses in Circle of Life

I think the difference with the Tombow blender pen and Derwent is that the Tombow is actually water, so it works well for instance on water color pencils. The Derwent and zest it are solvent, so work on the waxiness to blend. I just ordered the golden stuff to pre pepare a page. I’m excited for it to come. Your pages are so beautiful. I thank you for being you i have always liked to colour in metallic's and a bit of glitter plus the glossy accents etc buy have never seen any one else do it i have been watching you non stop since i found you you seam to like some of the same books too i haven't even started colouring yet as i am in the middle of moving so need to be ready after this all bets are off i cant wait to see what you are doing then as you would have evolved and find more unique ways of colouring with metallic and found other wonderful bling to add

Your pages are always gorgeous! Quick question …. Would you ever consider doing a quick tutorial on using fine liners? I love metallic paint but love to see you demonstrate fine lining.

Great idea! How do you currently use them? I use them to define lashes on portraits and to draw in images that are not already on the page. I drew in a small round carpet around a mouse lying on the library floor in Nice Little Town. I added tiny strawberries on an Elf's blouse and coloured them in - that was in Christine Karron's Fairies 2 greyscale. I learned from ILene Vick who is a fan of using fine liner to add a sconce in an upside down D shape to the side of a building and then use yellow below to make it appear as if light is shining on the brick- she was trying to create a night scene. She also pointed out how images are unfinished for example a round globe shaped lamp on a post was half done, so I filled in the missing side. ILene is on every evening on fb live and you can ask her anything. You keyboard and she speaks to you. She has answered so many questions. If you really want to learn from someone who always uses fine liner, tune into her show and learn. When she welcomes you, tell her why you are there, to learn all about how to use fine liner. She will give you lots of tips.

From what little I've seen of your work, I see that you are the queen of metallics and paints ! Your pages are so interesting and creative and I can tell how much thought you put into each page. Loved the pages you did this month. I did not finish any pages. I started a mandala with stabilo pens, but somehow i got water on the page wich ruined it. Toen i started a New mandala page but i am nog crazy about the colors i started with, so that is a w.i.p. and i started the title page from imagine mythograpic wich is way more difficult then i thought it woud be. So i have not finished that one either. I hope to finish them next month. Because last Saturday Hanna Karlzons newest book arrived and i want to color in it.

Hi! i have a few questions for you today. Before I begin, I just wanted to let you know that you can get all of the Korean and Japanese books on Book Depository which is probably more affordable than Amazon Japan because the shipping is always free. Maybe you already knew this. I just ordered Rita Berman"s Europa book from there and it is my first time ordering from them. I couldn't find the book on Canadian or American Amazon. Take your time to answer, lol and thank you in advance! 1.How can I start using metallic paint? What is the brand of paint that you think performs the best? 2.Does Metallic paint go through to the other side of the page and affect the picture on the opposite side? 3.Does metallic paint make the page buckle? 4.How do you decide when to use which medium on a page? ie; what makes you decide to colour the flowers in marker instead of pencil or the tops of the houses in paint instead of pencil? 5.How do you feel about working on Amazon paper? I have a lot of problems with it. 6.Do you find that Christine Karron's books on Amazon paper are smoother than other Amazon books and easier to colour in the book as long as you use an oil based pencil, my prismas don't work on that page. 7.What is the simplest way to create a night sky? i've been struggling with this. 8.Finally, you said that you love Cocowyo books, are they printed on Amazon paper?

Hi there. Yes, I have looked on Book depository but couldn’t find the Japanese ones I was wanting. I usually check Book Depository first to see if they have the books. Now to answer your questions: 1. Just use metallic paint for accents, small parts/areas on the page, e.g. a hat on a person, the border of the page, anything really. Get some fine watercolour brushes - sizes zero, or 2/0 or 3/0 should work. I like Coliro Finetec paints and paints from Etsy - the Art Spirits, Honeybee pigments and Reneeissance colours are great. 2. If you use water sparingly and use the paint when it is creamier (ie leave the water on the pan for longer before using it), no paint goes on the reverse of the page. However, you may get shadowing on Amazon printed paper but these are single sided usually anyway. 3. Depends how much you use, whenever you use paint on colouring book paper, it will buckle a bit but usually flattens out and it’s not that pronounced. 4. I just decide based on what I think will look nice on the page, so if I have used a lot of pencil on the page, I think about which parts I can use metallic paint on. If there are a lot of small details, I may use fineliner. I also consider the paper quality, so if it’s not that great, most of the picture will be completed in dry mediums. 5. I’m not keen on it but I’m getting used to it, certain pencils like Holbein, Prisma’s and Arteza work well on it in my opinion but I don’t like the fact that I can’t use watercolour pencils. However, if I want to I just pre-prepare the page with Golden satin glazing liquid. 6. I don’t have Christine Karron’s books so cannot comment unfortunately. 7. I would say using watercolour paints or pan pastels would work well in creating a night sky. 8. Yes, they are on Amazon printed paper. Hope that helps 😊

Why do you cover all of your completed pages with parchment paper? I spray my finished pages with a good fixative.

I don’t use fixative just in case it reacts with some of the other mediums used on the page, for example in the past it would cause gel pen ink to bleed through to the other side which is something I don’t want to happen.
