Love this video but definitely bummed that you covered seemingly every floor choice and then specified that red and gray were a little tougher and needed more consideration, than you covered the gray and completely never mentioned the red again. What about us girlies with Brazilian cherry wood floors! We need love, too! Lol 😂❤ as always, love your advice

Oof, yes, I remember all too well the yellow/orange wood cabinets (and floors, if you weren’t stuck with carpeting) and yellow/orange or peachy beige walls… to the point that I became allergic to beige! 😆 Even though gray and taupe became overly popular trends (and trendy eventually = dated), I’d still choose a taupe over beige any day, assuming those were my only choices. P.S. I love your undertones color wheel, it’s so useful, thanks for inventing it!

Thank you so much Maria! I am one of those with LVP in grey with a violet under tone. I originally painted my walls white dove with chantilly lace for trim and mouldings. My walls were a pale yellow and I hated them. I made a huge mistake of just listening to influencers going on and on about white dove and assumed it was a versatile color. I felt like I had a permanent easter vibe going with the yellow walls and violet floors. I did what you suggested and tested 3 colors and finally decided on Balboa Mist and I could cry. You were so right and my floors dont even look as violet anymore. Just beautiful and warm and goes so nicely with my soft teal decor. Thank you again Maria, you are the best!

I used Easy RGB Compare to find a Dulux colour match to Feather down and Neutral Ground and for all of us in Australia, surprise suprise, Hogs Bristle quarter is a match. No wonder it is everywhere!

I was hoping you would have addressed red, red-orange wood floors that are not blotchy. I have resigned myself to sanding the floors and opting for a beige neutral color which won't fight with any colors I decide to decorate with. For me, picking the wall color is the most difficult part of decorating. It seems once the base is down everything else comes a bit easier. Always enjoy your content!

I had the hardest time choosing a paint color for my new spec house and the grey floors it came with, I chose sea salt from Benjamin Moore, it's a story color, meaning it has more tints than most other colors from Benjamin Moore so depending on lighting and what next to it, different undertones will be emphasized, I used matte as well, I really like the end result, they originally painted in Bennington grey and there was too much contrast, I still have one wall as a feature wall in this color, mostly because I could've furniture out of the way to let painter behind couch, I think it came out great, used creekside Green for the bathrooms and laundry room

Great video. I cannot wait to get my color wheel. I am replacing floors that need to cordinate with red-orange cabinets and smokey pearl (taupe-grey) granite. I hope I can find a timeless blonde floor with a hint of grey to pull in those countertops.

I’ve always thought that “ orange beige” wall color pulled a bit green compared to that orangey floor and cabinet color. It looks ok in Craftsmen homes but it’s not one of the top 5 for me. ❤ Thank you for this. Good video and insight! I usually look at undertones and try out BIG pInt samples on at least 3 walls at 2 times of the day in each room before buying a gallon of paint!

OK, I am having white oak flooring put in next month. I am dying to know what color I should do them. I’m not a fan of the light light. I’m not a fan of the orange. I love the color that was on your flooring in your house. With thisI’m also going to be replacing all of my trim with a natural wood. Do you have any suggestions for mixing wood and colors.

My woods floors are white oak, but I have a mixture of blues and creams as my primary decorating colors in my furniture. I used SW Extra White and it has bluish undertones, but I d like to warm up the walls more. Will your color wheel and paint color help me find a cool/warm paint choice?

My kitchen is in between my den and dining room / living room not a open concept . my den and living room have hard wood but way different colors. What color should I paint my kitchen not a lot to paint. the cabinets are med gray black hard ware white quartz and is it ok to have a different floor in there as well

Our wood floors in our home build have a violet pink undertone . I don’t want to make that any louder with having it in paint color too . So I’m not sure if your book or you offer suggestions, esp in warm off-white paints , to accomplish what I’m looking to do?

Thanks for mentioning that white walls are not the solution for every home. I live in Germany and its everywhere. I get it, its the brightest wall color, for when there is not much light in winter. But i think its so boring.

When explaining the comparison, can you point to the color on your color wheel? sometimes it's hard to know which color on your wheel you are speaking about as you are laying it next to the wood, paint etc.
