This is one of the most useful thought process and colour choice videos I have ever seen. It's absolutely fascinating to witness and go through your reasoning, including when you go down blind alleys (as we all do). I learned so much and also giggled a lot at you gently castigated yourself - I do that too. Please do more of these type of unedited vids. They are gold dust in seeing how your magical colouring really comes about rather than any smoke, mirrors and misapprehensions that's it's quick and easy. Thank you so much Claire - more exactly the same as this please as 10 part vid series which cover EVERYTHING from conception to finish would be fine by me xo 😄 By the way, has anyone found any tips on starting to use the buddycolo app? I've downloaded it but can't even see where to enter my colouring book library, there's no add button under My Selection.

@@ColourwithClaire Thank you Claire - I got Buddycolo working with your help, I'd been trying to add the books from My Collection instead of Discover. 😚 Going to watch the second part to your fab Kerby Rosanes waterfall tutorial tomorrow. Your take on his illustrations being good for beginners is really interesting. I only own this book of his and looked at it and thought, "Ooohhhh no way, it's far too detailed and scary for a newbie like me - will revisit in a few decades", but thinking further on your comment, you're completely right. In fact, all that seemingly deeply frightening line detail is actually a really clear clue for us neophytes on where to put our highlight, midtone and shadow colours. I'll get cracking then and order some more of his books, but not as ornaments! 🤣

I have to add Claire. I adore Karismas. You’re so right to say they’re hard to get now and very expensive but so worth it and yes I was like you thinking I don’t want to use up expensive pencils but I’m over it and I use them first now when I can colour. You once made that comment on a video and I thought how right Claire is. 👍You can’t take things with you once you’re gone so I started using my expensive pencils much more often. Hi :) New to adult coloring. Gave up on picking my own colors because it takes too long and I get too much anxiety that I've picked wrong, so I'm cheating and copying finished pages lol. I'm going to do this page in the video, but do you also have the pages with the gnomes, fairies, trolls in the house (the key in the back says bumblebee), or the globe with the tree and "an octopus" as the answer key? I didn't see them when I searched. Also, how are you supposed to get the pages out of these books without ripping then?

Nobody minds long videos Claire. Especially yours. As soon as you said green/blue I thought "she needs those Pablos back!" Some gorgeous shades in that family in there. I'm intimidated by this book so I've not coloured a picture in it yet so I'm going to follow along, not immediately, but when I've finished my current list. As you have chosen the red/orange blue/green pallet, would you still add in the purple shades or not? I get stuck with colour pallets, knowing what I can add with it.

I am dying over how organized you are. Kerby books are pretty smooth. I would go with the Derwent over Polychromos just because the Polychromos is so much harder and transparent. Derwent being wax would probably stick to the tooth better and give you more blending. Just my 2 cents.
