I really enjoyed this tutorial. I know it’s years later, but you really explain and demonstrate things that just make sense to me. I have no artistic ability or insight so I have to break it down then reconstruct and explore from there. Thank you❤ the green and purple/ blue are my absolute favorites!

Thank you for making something hard to color so much easier! I love all the combos but I love the green combo best. I started to color a snake with it it it's amazing the difference in the scales by just changing the true green and the chartreuse. I stopped and wrote down all the rest of the combos. The black looks really fun to try also.

Hi Claire thanks for doing this for us. I have written do all the colours for reference to use later. Could you do the same for sample of pastel colours for fairies and magically creatures ?
@slhs184 жыл бұрын
This technique is great only if you want to get a more accurate snake skin look its better to gradient the lighter tone on the outer curve and apply the deepest tone to the inner vee. Basically reversing the order of the colors. It makes it look much more realistic.

Thank you SO SO SO much for this, I needed it soooo badly for my giant nature Naga (basically a mermaid but with a snake tail instead) character Im drawing, but I didn't know how to go about coloring scales, as I didn't want it to just be flat colored. This is so so perfect for it!!!! Thank you so much again, and it's funny because every color combo you did here represents a Naga character I have lmfao, it's like I was meant to find this vid!!!

@@ColourwithClaire indeed!!! You definitely earned a sub from me, i love your personality and how you go so in-depth, love your colored pencil blending vids too!! Another perk of wax based pencils that I've found out is that if they're constantly breaking when sharpening, if you wrap them in a steaming towel i think, there's a few methods people use, but basically it melts the wax back together so you don't waste half your pencil sharpening it (',',',',':
