I met Jim several times at Ricky's shows. He was always so kind and gracious. I asked him about playing on Austin City Limits with Dolly. He said it was a blast. RIP, banjo legend.

Let's give Jim Mills some credit. None of us could get the sound out of a banjo like Jim and the other pros. I listened to Adcock make a Deering good time sound like it had a tone ring in it. I could not believe what i was hearing

The last repeating pull-off lick on the G string is so stupid easy, and it drives the audience nuts! Mills is such a master!

I had the pleasure of seeing jim mills fine pickin when ricky skaggs and kentucky thunder made a rare appearance up here in michigan in the late 2000s. I wish we could get more live bluegrass up here.
