I still have my top Craftsman tool box I bought when I started building machinery back in 1977. I remember it was discounted quite a bit because it had been dropped and had a dent in the corner. Still locked up just fine. I then built a bottom cabinet with double doors that was lockable and I now use that to hold my Combo welder on. Pretty cool to see you build out your shop. My dad used pegboard on every wall in his garage and it was perfect for hanging all kinds of stuff.

Colt, I am an old mechanic that owns a lot of snap on tools and boxes. I began in the 70”s before I ever heard of Harbor Freight. I had been a mechanic for 6 years before the Matco guy ever showed up at the shop. 47 years and my snap on tools are still hittin it hard. The green is cool color. Snap on red was the only choice 47 years ago when I started in a GM Dealer. Before all that it was craftsman at the V W store. The battery tools are really cool too. Keep on doing what you love to do.

Very cool, those tool boxes really make the space yours. On the rolling box you can flip the gas struts to the other side of their mounts which might help with the usability of the side screwdriver slots. Although they might then interfere with stuff in the middle section...

From an experienced journeyman point of view, you are put a sacrificial sheet over top that mean 18 foot counter that would eventually get torn up so if you have like a quarter inch MDF or maybe put sheet metal down and a quarter you can weld on top of it then and you can just sand it down and grind it down

I’ve owned a G60 Nissan Patrol and I couldn’t kill it no matter what I tried. In 1962 Reg Sprigg his wife and two kids were the first to cross Australia’s Simpson desert by vehicle in their G60 Nissan Patrol. The Simpson desert is the world’s largest parallel sand dune desert it extends 68,150 square miles, testament to how tough the vehicle is and his patience travelling that far with two kids asking are we there yet.

Something to consider for the big boxes that won’t be moved around, I attached mine to the wall, so when you open many drawers with tools in them, the whole box won’t flop over because it’s front heavy, very important when small children visit the shop, but can happen if you open too many drawers yourself, Happy Wrenching !

Colt, the number and placement of the horizontal "beauty bars" on the Willys V-nose grill is based on year. '48-49 were flatter with no beauty bars. 50-53 had the 5 evenly spaced beauty bars. '54 and up tended to have three beauty bars evenly spaced, though in '56 they weren't evenly spaced. And from '58 and up they added the big round hole for the heater air intake.

Hell ya bro. Congrats on getting noticed by HF. I’m not a wrencher but I have tools. Ives moved a few times and I’m generally not nice to my 2nd hand early generation US G tool boxes. They still work flawlessly. I just wish they were bigger so I could lay out the sockets and wrenches and junk - mostly Pittsburgh stuff When I do use it I drop it, over tighten. Drop it more and it still works perfectly

I think you can swap the side that the upper lid cylinders are connected to to move them to the other side (17:11)- which will free up the space where you put screw drivers along the sides of the top. The Craftsman toolbox you said was your first is what I have... it's OK for a toolbox, but the US box you first showed looks way nicer!

Hay colt. Your roller cart, you should be able to unbolt gas struts and fit them the same way the snap on one's are fitted. You will then be able to close the lid with all your pri bars where you want them. With out the gas struts going in the outside cavity on top of the pri bar handles.
