Ive been a fan of Colter for some years now. Hes a legend and the real deal in ny opinion. Im thankful for all the amazing workn hes done. It would be cool to hear him play Clay pigeons by Blaze Foley , and mamas dont let your babies grow up to be cowboys by ed Bruce.

to awnser that guys his question. Colter uses full step down tuning and then capo on second fret a lot.
@marksoftime4 жыл бұрын
one hell of a gibson as well
@miguelmarquez41924 жыл бұрын
Im confused. A full step down would make the top string D, but a capo 2nd fret would put it back up to an E and all the rest back to normal for that matter. Im not a guitarist im a violist trying to picture this in my head. Are you joking or does he do that for tone or some other reason? In my head im thinkin "all that happens is hes got less fingerboard" tell me what I'm I'm missing, please.

Can anyone tell me what chords he’s playing? I know they’re right there but I can’t quite see what he’s doing..
@bigcase44492 жыл бұрын
He's holding a c to start, pause and starts singing on f. Then the whole song is just f, to c, to g, back to c and repeat. Also dont let his capo fool you, he tunes a step down and capos to make his guitar hum and slightly buzz.

I'm probably gonna get bitten here but this is the third song of colter's I've listened to and I just can't see his value as a coverer of Prine. Weak voice, nothing on the guitar and I get no feeling that he cares about the actual meaning/feeling of the songs. I maybe will change my mind if I listen more but right now I'm not much impressed.
