What he has to remember is country music fans are sick to death of hip hop country. To the point of not even listening. We welcome the raspy voice and old school tone of his music. That's why he's blown up so fast. That's the music we love. Take Aaron Lewis for example. A style all of his own and a huge following for it. Keep it real little brother. Love what you do!

I love that deep, raspy growl! Please don’t ever lose that sound! I was introduced to your music (The Devil Wears A Suit & Tie, and Kate McCannon from the Brewery Sessions) only 48 hours ago. You’d barely sang “Reverend, Reverend please come quick” and I became addicted! I’ve been bingeing since then. Experiment with your range, but please - NEVER abandon that early sound. It’s mesmerizing and so unique!

I think he can't sustain the low growl. It's too low for him and difficult and uncomfortable to consistently replicate live. Not to mention it could damage his voice.

I forget how I ended up coming across his music. I know the first song I heard was Kate McCannon. I remember I couldn’t wait to get home and share with my mother, who got me into country music, that woah I found REAL country music that actually tells a story! He is definitely a start in leading this generation of new country back to something real, raw, and respectable.

Colter Wall is the best thing in country music for me right now, Tyler Childers is second. But when I heard that rasp in the voice on the Brewery Sessions I thought that was the best country voice I had ever heard. I think no matter what style he goes with, obviously that's his choice, but do not lose that voice, that rasp, because that's what brought you here. Maybe people who are high in the industry have told Colter he needs to tone it down but I just hope he keeps that rasp in future songs and keeps it on the old ones, like Kate McCannon.

honestly, when I was first introduced to him, I loved songs like Sleeping on the Blacktop and Kate McCannon but I've later come to appreciate his new work. Musicians with integrity, shit blows my mind. That statement at the end talkin about lets get the people these songs are about listening and not worry about pushing numbers was cool as shit.
